Where were you when 9/11 happened and what were your VERY first thoughts?

There are always those events that you will remember exactly where you were, what you were doing, and what u first thought when it happened...

I was in my 11th grade class, actually watching the news as we had to do every morning. When the footage first caught in, i just thought it was a regular plane crash. When i found out what had happened, I live in Washingtin DC, so my first thought was, OMG, something really bigs going to happen here. My whole school thought something was gonna hit the white house or something.

So...Where were you? What did you first think about??

i was at home alone, cleaning house that day. usually i turn on the news in the morning, but opened all the windows and turned on the cd player instead. i didn't even know anything had happened until my niece called me around 11 am.."aunt donna, are you watching the news"??? i was in total shock when i saw what had happened. my daughter called me to come pick her up from school..i was the only car on the road, it was soooo eerie!!! the streets were desolate...abandoned, ghostly...we went to our local super w*l m*rt to break the silence..everyone shopping was quiet..store had the monitors on the news..very grim. i was very worried for a while because we lived near dfw airport...what a mess that would be, Goddess forbid!!

I was in grade school and when we arrived at my school (my mom and I) we heard from a teacher's aid that planes had crashed into the pentagon, so my mom said that I shouldn't go to school...just because she wanted to be with me I guess.

My grandma was in the hospital at the time, and she was kind of out of it from drugs. There was a TV screen in the hospital room and she goes, "This is a sad movie...."

Then a little while later we discovered they had crashed into the two towers as well....

Not that interesting...but that's what happened....

It's so amazing when you hear of stories of people who were about to board but didn't....or that guy with the seeing eye dog that was about to board that plane but his dog led him out....

I was at work already, when one of my co-workers came in and asked me "Did you hear the news?" I went to Yahoo (natch) and saw the headlining story was that an airplane had been crashed into the World Trade Center.

At work, I hadn't listened to the news all morning so my co-worker told me. My thought was I knew osama was going to up the ante since clinton did nothing about his previous attacks against the US, but I was surprised at the scope of what he pulled off. Then I wondered if more was coming.

I was in music class back in 5th grade. I remember the principal coming on over the loud speaker and saying that "2 buildings were on fire," so we didn't really know what was going on.

I was at the club in Japan. I was mad because they made us go back to the base and man up our battle dress uniforms and we were locked down on the base for 2 weeks and I had a hot date that weekend. True Story.

I was in the 4th grade and I was scared. I saw the World Trade Center bombings and all I was thinking about was my family. (They live in NY) Many kids in my class were crying.

I was 7 and I remember being home sick with my mom. Then she made me go upstairs while she called people and watched the news

I was at my home with the morning news. I saw it happen. I knew exactly who was responsible for this and I was wanting a nuclear bomb dropped on Tehran. I'm still waiting for this. Bush is a weakling like his father.

My uncle died, he grow to be interior the 1st tower that have been given struck. i grow to be.11 yrs previous & in 5th grade at that element. I in basic terms have been given back from paintings type. i think of that it shouldnt have occurred. Alot of ppl lost their lives that day for no reason.
