Who would be the next Christopher Columbus, what territory would he find, what country would take the risk of the voyage?

I've lived in the central part of the country all my life and am thinking of moving to a different region. I have vacationed in many areas but you dont really get a feel for what it's like living there when just on vacation. I can afford a home here but find the area boring. Not many unique activities other than the usual podunk art fairs and such.

Thoughts on different regions of the country are welcomed also.

Well, I and that guy dated 2 years ago. I still think about him even though I've been in another relationship for the past year. Because our relationship didn't have a natural end we still have some unresolved issues between us. (He was pressured by friends and family to break up with me so he said it was better to stop then than later when we will hurt more. We still ask our mutual best friend about each other from time to time; otherwise we do not keep in touch).

I am really nervous about having to spend the whole day and evening together, and at the same time I am looking forward to it. I got a really expensive dress and will look fabulous; I also got his dream job which is very well paid. So he will definitely be impressed. I am only not sure how to behave and what to expect from him on the day. Should I be like "My life is great without you and I am successful" or act indifferent or be friendly? My aim is to be full of class and make him appreciate me. Please help.

I am sure that for many women, it's totally impossible to have that anorexic look that is so popular today...for those with turn of the century bods that were ever so popular in days before media governed what was acceptable...can you hold your head up high and look/feel as sexy as the bag of bones person standing next to you? I heard someone say that anyone over a size 12 was considered fat...give me a (*&%) break!

Not interested in the hysterical "your second-hand smoke is killing me!" arguments. All I want to know is whether, after the smoking ban comes into play, the government still intends to levy taxes on the sale of tobacco products. Surely it's inconsistent and hypocritical to frown so hard on something as being harmful to others and then take money from its sale. Alcohol of course you can still consume at home, in public places and so on, so how come smoking is so discriminated against. Non-smoker here by the way.

Also, do men think they are cool when they stand up and pee?

I notice when I'm around a group of people and they are all from the same race (whites, Blacks, Mexicans, Chinese, etc.) that they tend to playfully touch (push, embrace, hug, touch, hold the hand or arm, etc.) each other.

But when I do the same, I get looked at as if I were doing something wrong. So I avoid touching people completely now, because it seems any sort of contact with people outside their race takes them by surprise.

Am I correct in my observations?

I'm multiracial, by the way -and look unlike any person most people have seen, from what I'm told.
