I have a 40 gallon Excursion. It costs about $120 to fill up. Yes, we can afford to drive anywhere we want. If we couldn't afford it we would have to buy a car (cringe). We also have an F350, a Dodge truck and a Jeep. I'm sure I'll get some thumbs down from environmentalists. It would be hard to pull a horse trailer with a Dodge Neon! LOL.

I drive a Toyota...get 32 miles per gallon, which is excellent.
But when you factor in insurance, oil changes, wear and tear on tires etc. I am about to the point where ,
my trips are really confined to necessary.
On week-ends and evenings I ride my bike, walk a lot and really try to keep expenses down.
Where I live and hours I work make ride-sharing virtually impossible, but each time I fill up I have coronary palpitations.

Don't drive a gas guzzler and you won't have such a big problem. It costs me about $35 to fill mine, which is still ridiculous, but considering I get 25mpg, I don't complain too much. Buy a more fuel-efficient car.

Jennyann, what are you driving a Semi? My 6cyl truck only costs half of that to fill it up. But that is still too much.
