I am sure that for many women, it's totally impossible to have that anorexic look that is so popular today...for those with turn of the century bods that were ever so popular in days before media governed what was acceptable...can you hold your head up high and look/feel as sexy as the bag of bones person standing next to you? I heard someone say that anyone over a size 12 was considered fat...give me a (*&%) break!

I am by Us standards overweight. I am 5'2" and I wear a US size 16, I wear it very well. I love my curves and wouldn't give them up for anything. I also have 3 daughters that are all different sizes and they love their shape also, I have 2 sons that are not biased on a woman's size.
My husband, a muscular and attractive Man, loves my curves and is not attracted to thin women.
So yes an overweight Woman can hold her head up and love her body!

I would be considered overweight, and I wear a size 12; however, I work out a lot and that weight is partly muscle. I can do 40 pushups on a good day (on my knuckles, the real kind.) So being overweight isn't necessarily making me unhappy. It just means I have to work harder to lift myself on the upstroke of the pushup. It is all in what you focus on. For me, I want to be strong and healthy. I'm not as concerned about looking fashion-magazine thin, since I know my lifestyle won't support it. I would like to lose weight, mainly because it'd make my knees hurt less and allow me to move faster.

My advice is to ignore the media and the ignorant who automatically say that size 12 is fat. I can probably bench press more than they can...

If you love yourself and are cool with how you look. Svelteness is not attractive on everyone. It's self love that matters. I doubt a lot of thin women are truly happy in today's society, if they base their worth on being what the media deems acceptable. real women can't compete with all the plastic, airbrushed, fake images of women they see everyday.

I personally don't like the "bag of bones" look. I like a little meat on my gals!! I think people worry way too much about what they look like. We are who we are.

It is very difficult for me. Some days I am OK with how I look and others no.
