Why are people SO scared to die?

I often visit an ethnic american message board to read and contribute to discussions on various issues. One issue that often crops up is rises in the numbers of out of wedlock children.

Many of the men on the site feel that women are ultimately responsible for OOW children because all they have to do is "close their legs". They feel that women are more responsible because women are ultimately the ones left "holding the baby" so to speak, so its down to them to take greater preventative action.

I feel however that men and women are equally responsible, as i do not see why the fact that the woman usually shoulders the responsibility of caring for the child, has any bearing on the rights and wrongs of OOW children.

I want to ask the question here, because there is a broader spectrum of races here, so i can get a more international perspective.

what would it be like if everything is free? i think if it happened out of nowhere, there would be a riot and the world would freak up and the prices would go up and down. but if it had never ever existed, i think the world would have adapted to it and it would be a normal thing. people wouldn't have to work, so nothing would get done. everything would be 'volunteer' and the malls would probably not go out of stock because everybody would be so used to it they would come and go as they pleased. i odn't think it would be peaceful, but there would be no homeless starving people...i don't know this is mind racking! it would be SOO different. tell me, what do u think it would be like? --

This is really just out of interest, but it relates to some research I'm doing.

How much do you find that you notice another person's accent? If it's different from your own, do you notice this immediately? Are you generally good at telling where a person's from based on their accent? How about other information (such as class, or age)? Do you find you just don't hear accents?

Please also tell me where you're from and what accent you consider yourself to have. Thanks!

Its wierd. I cant approach people nor can I start conversation with them. If they talk to me or ask me to sit with them or whatever Im usually fine but you know I can't make myself do it. And I think its why people think I'm wierd and not interested in them. Because on this class trip this girl asked me to sit with her and friends at lunch but when we got on the bus I couldnt make myself go sit with them so I sat by myself the whole time. You know I think they expect me to do more but I seriously just dont have it in me its like I need constant support or else I like fall into depression and think they all hate me.

and how much would it take to buy your modesty off? dont look at the other answers first. just go with your kneejerk answer. im not trying to be vulgar, offensive or crude. Really. I just happened to be watching a show on how women who posed nude in a magazine were basically ostacised in their communities, made a comment in an offhanded way like "i didnt know how those women could convince themselves it was a good idea to take money to be nude in front of the WHOLE country like that" and the person (female) I thought I knew gave a very surprising answer about how much money she would take to do it.... it made me wonder....just How differently DO men and women think about these sorts of things.....

I would wish for the Knowledge to start the next greatest company and to maintian it (like microsoft). Financial independence leads to a great life full of fun money might not buy happiness but its better then being poor.

shopping on a saturday is horrific, going out its too busy to get served, driving to work i'm stuck in ques, go to the gym and you have to wait your turn, try to buy a house and there are a million other people looking at it etc etc etc I can't breath!!!! Any non-holocaust solutions?
