what would it be like if everything is free? i think if it happened out of nowhere, there would be a riot and the world would freak up and the prices would go up and down. but if it had never ever existed, i think the world would have adapted to it and it would be a normal thing. people wouldn't have to work, so nothing would get done. everything would be 'volunteer' and the malls would probably not go out of stock because everybody would be so used to it they would come and go as they pleased. i odn't think it would be peaceful, but there would be no homeless starving people...i don't know this is mind racking! it would be SOO different. tell me, what do u think it would be like? --

I do not think there would be malls if there was no money. I do not think there would have been as many "advances" as we have now if there was no money. Your assuming everything would be free if there was no money. I think that is an incorrect assumption, I think there would be a very cumbersome barter system. With money you can carry your wealth in your pocket, with a barter system you might need a convoy of vehicles, or slaves to carry your wealth. Then once you get to the market no one may want your stuff. Everyone always wants your money.
I think it would be a simpler time. People would still be greedy, and something else would become money, i.e. they use cigarettes as money in prison. I think money has allowed mankind to speed up trade, which in turn speeds up human advances. Money represents energy, either kinetic as in work by the hour, or static as in a completed product. I think to adequately answer this question you would have to write a book.

First of all, if money never existed, there would be no such thing as a mall. Everyone would trade goods or services, if necessary. Everyone would grow or raise their own food. No one would hate anyone else because they had a better car or house. Since we wouldn't need a job to support ourselves, we would stay home with our families and wouldn't need to be on someone else's schedule. Money and modern economics were designed to make a few people rich and the rest of the people serve the rich- that's it!

The problem with society is not money, it's insecurity. Taking money out of the equasion is only going to increase peoples' insecurity (generally speaking.) If people don't get a paycheck (or some, similar reward,) at the end of the week, they're not going to work. If your scenario was viable, charities would be overloaded with volunteers.

Freedom everywhere and sharing everything a person has to survive in this life. How wonderful if the government could rule for people to live and share and not pay for obligations that cause economic chaos.

Trading of goods, as the indians did. However, many people would starve due to the lack of skill to produce anything with their own two hands. One way to weed out the lazies!

A Utopia wouldn't exist (some are greedy, some lazy, the weak would be run over by the strong, etc.)
Things like mall would never been built.

I don't know but sometimes I long for the life of the Amish. They can support themselves without the help of money or modern gadgets.

There might be more real love......What a thought? If men had to spend any money on you and you did not pay your way well they would not touch you with a 10 ft poll.
