Do religious people generally support medicine that allows people to live longer than they would naturally? Do they think that people with cancer should deny treatment as it is clearly their time to go?

It is a gold colored metal, brass I think. It is a flower that opens up and closes as you unscrew the base. The petals fall down when the base is unscrewed to reveal a small cup shaped part perhaps to hold oil. There are eight outer petals and and eight smaller inner petals. The petals close to form a rounded triangle or open fully. Anyone have any idea what this is or anything about it?

"Do you realize in about 50 years our world population will double?"

Do people really believe this? We have Europe, which is looking at 25% of the population having kids at all, and usually just one. We have China, where you can only have one kid, and most of them are boys (psst, it takes both a guy and a girl to have a baby) which means probably a 75% reduction in population in the next generation. Not to mention everyone blowing each other away in the middle east. That into account, what is the big concern about overpopulation? It looks like we need to worry about the opposite, right? Or am I missing something?

OK, we all have at some point in our life fallen for or givin into a get rich quick theme. I have read so many books that tell me secrets of how the millionaire mind works. I have spent thousands of dollars in trying to make money and find that key ingredient. Has it worked, well no, have I given up, well... no. Should I give up...not sure. I have so many inventions, ideas, and intellectual property running around in my head. All I do is write them down. I talk to people about it, I don't tell all the details. I look for a glimmer in someone else's eyes. What has all this taught me? That without my dreams and hopes, I have nothing. You might think that the money is what is missing, but I know it's only a matter of time before it comes my way. Now here is what I want to know. In your opinion, should I continue on my path, or hang it up and get a 9 to 5 job? For those who tell me to hang on, have you been able to accumulate wealth. NO MLM pitches please.

The fish is getting to where it shouldnt be eated,as it will cause health problems.warnings or being put out for us not to eat certain fish as the mercery level is way to much in those fish.why or you not concerned.

What would the world be like if the 13th amendment hadn't been passed? Try to encumpass all aspects of society. How would the U.S. be doing economically now, socially, politically? How would a slavery society be different from today's society? What would be missing from both, what could be gained(pros and cons.) Try to see it from the point of view people back in age of slavery, before abolitionists. Imagine too, how slaves would be treated today in modern times. Please, nobody bite my head off, would the life of a modern day slave be better than some lives of the homeless(especially taking into account Katrina victims.) Again, just to reitterate, i'm not a racist. I'm writing a speech and am looking for opinions. Please, no stupid remarks, and definitely no racist ones. Please try to keep this a civilized think tank. Thanks! :-)

That is a lie if you don't think it Racism in U.S.A. but I was thinking this is how to get people off their high horses is to ask them this question. Will you be taking anything with you when you die? I never seen a moving van behind a hearst with a dead body in it. Have any body ever seen that. Naked we came and Naked we wil go back and be Judge on how we treated all people. For we shall reap what we sow. What you plant you will reap!!!!! If he can carry around that GIANT backpack and spell well enough to make a sign, why does he choose to avoid working? If I give him my money am I just encouraging his delinquent behavior? Shouldn't I give my donations to a food shelter or homeless shelter instead so that he doesn't use it to buy alcohol or drugs?

He is an elderly gentlemen and I think he might live alone or be widowed. For more than a year he has had a string across his front entrance with what looks like a handkerchief or a rag in the center. Is this some sort of bizarre custom and/or superstition, or is there a practical reason for it?

I suggested to my g/f we have a photo session togehter nude with a photographer because I thought it would be a hot experience. She was hesitant at first, but finally agreed. Then, when we got to the studio, she was more relaxed than I was and got into the 'activities' with a lot more spontaneity. Even the photographer commented on how much more into it she got. Is that because a woman has to get warmed up to an idea first?
