I was at a Toronto shopping mall on the weekend. While I stopped my car waiting for a space there was also a mini van stopped about 20 spaces down, by the entrance of the mall. At this point 2 people exited the mall and the mini van targetted one of the people. The other person walked to my end of the lane, and I signalled. It happened that the person targetted by the mini van walked across to other lanes. At this time the guy in the van pulled up to me saying because he was waiting longer, any space in that lane belonged to him. I find this logic to be baffling. I refused to give up my space and parked there. He was furious, got out of his car and told me I was stupid. I think I am a passive guy who does not like confrontations. Whenever thers is any doubt (if both signalled the same time), I usually give up the space but in this case it was a clear case of bullying. Knowing how crazy people can be nowadays, does that mean I should not stood up?

How would history have changed if the mountains were raised or lowered? Imagine the peoples that would have met sooner or later. Would we be more culturally homogeneous? How would our politics be
changed? Would we be more peaceful or warlike?

Are they are merely a boundary, a symbol of challenges, something you climb to be closer to heaven or the heavens, a place to test yourself, a backdrop as a curtain to a stage? Are they far away or ever present in your life? Do they permeate your onsciousness or are they merely a feature of the landscape that is below awareness? Are dreams better when they include mountains?

I've always assumed that socks come up missing because they are the smallest thing in the laundry. Ladies, do your little tiny thongs come up missing regularly too? Or do appliances just have a foot fetish?

My question may sound awfully bigoted, but having worked my socks off to provide myself and my family with 'the pleasures in life', as did my parents before me, why should i tolerate witnessing a low life, lazy wretch, trying to sponge off innocent passers-by. O.k, some of them may have problems. But as my gran used to say, "pull your socks up. Pull em up till your toes bleed". And i did. And quite honestly, so should they.

Does anyone have any examples of racism in popular music (any genre of music, from any time in the past 100 years), or is this going to be one of those questions where nobody is willing to put in the effort to think about it?

or underclass? peasants? poor people?

why has this become so popular to make fun of these people?

Are they being generalised to all poor people , under class, are Chavs or stupid peasant people.

Just curious? Maybe people feel better about themselves by making fun of people who grew up in poor neighborhoods. East Enders and such.

The CelebBigBrother debacle continues with Jade being accused as a racist, but no mention of Jermaine Jackson's "white trash" comment.
It seems that the term 'racist crime' is used where a white person commits a crime against a black person, then it is banded about freely. But what about the reverse?
Earlier last year, in the UK, a young white girl was tortured, raped and murdered by four young black men (all found guilty). This case was in the papers for two weeks and yet AT NO TIME was the term 'racist crime' used. Now imagine the reverse: four white boys do that to a young black girl. You'd have to cover your ears to drown out the screeches of "racist crime" that would be screamed.
I'm sure there's plenty more examples but I offer these comments to get your views. Does 'racism' work both ways, or is it only a one-way street?
