Don't get me wrong, I like a few drinks on a night out and have been known to get drunk, but I was wondering....having visited a country in Europe that has severely restricted the sale of spirits and heavily taxed beer sales (to a point where they are merely a treat now and then) and seen such a different culture with people in their daily life.... it made me wonder whether such a move could ever happen in the UK?

Thinking about the savings in the Health service not to mention the populations health improvements as a whole, the police being able to tackle real crime rather than just the anti-social / drunken problems and generally just a more desirable atmosphere for everyone.

I'm in no way suggesting prohibition or anything like that, say it would be socially acceptable to have a glass or two of wine with a meal in a restaurant .... if the UK wants more of a cafe culture, would this not be the way to go?

Who knows.... such a move may even make me lose this darn beer belly!

ones special needs? I am in my mid 30’s. Worked very hard and done well for myself and my family. I am tired of taking care of everyone who happens to have some special needs. I know that some are born this way, some do it to themselves by doing stupid things, some are just lazy, and some just fake it. I see the negative effects of this philosophy in my children’s schools, my work place, stores, and many other places. I am sorry but why should their problems affect my life so much. Why should my child get less one on one attention from the teacher because we are mainstreaming mentally handicapped children who take up 3 times as much time as a normal kid?

I just moved into a black environment and it seems like it's very hard for me to make friends...I already have enemies but i haven't done anything to anybody!! I try to be myself and keep my mouth shut about other people but they still dislike me...they always talk about the way i talk ... Is it because I talk proper and not slang? Every last asylum seeker no matter how long they have been in the UK should be expelled, they are bad news and the murder of sarah Beshenivsky is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the amount of crime they have brought to the UK. I have watched these parasites bring their dysfunctional lifestyles that is alien to the civilisation of europe. They need to be rounded up and every last one sent back to their country of origin, as the term asylum seeker is a misnomer social security seeker would be more fitting. If you do are you more apt to do so when someone is there bell ringing or doesn't it matter to you? I have heard that more money is collected when someone is manning the bucket then when it is left on its own. Why do you think this is, is it because people prefer to give when there is someone who sees them doing so, instead of just giving for the sake of giving?
