The obvious ones are the elves and runes, but there must be others, since he was an expert in Old Norse.

Is it possible that during the big bang, or some other universal collision, that all our mythical creatures were on a piece of rock that was blown away into the cosmos, and they still live on a planet far, far away!???

Or, that they were the unfortunate ones that lived on the bits of earth that were flooded or opened into large crevasses'. If they dug up the grand canyon would they find unicorn bones????
(I am not suggesting that they should, by the way!)

Checking out questions on Mythology and Folklore, of all subjects? Practically every question can be answered with "that's just superstition".
Do you really find this subject so intriguing? What draws you to this subject?
Thanks!

I'm writing a book, and the main character's a cursed ghost. I just was curious if anyone had any ideas out there or experiences that may be helpful to my writing. And I'm interested to know WHY people believe or WHY they're skeptics. Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah, and how terrifying is the idea (or how terrifying was the experience if you had one)?

The Mayan calendar is set to run out on the winter solstice in 2012. This is said to have long been the day of the apocolypse. The Mayans had an unbelievable intelligence of the universe and time (with their calendar being more exact and accurate than our current one). Personally I don't believe in it, but it still interesting to think about especially on December 20, 2012. What do you think of it?

NOTHING! They do it in spite! Because they don't want to see you get anything out of it!

So many times I happen to look at the time whether it be morning or night and the time says 11.11. Does this happen to others? Do you know what it means?

Besides protecting us from the rain and sun, what else can we do with it? Are there any websites that can come up with any creative ideas on how to use something differently?

I was with a group on a rainforest trek a year ago, and our guides told us a story about a wild tribe of "little people" on the opposite side of the mountain we were staying on. I really don't think they were making it up. Anyone heard of this?

From my last post, I gather that you don't want to talk on the Religion section because you don't want to get reported and sick of poeple putting you down.

"do what ye will; let it harm none."
ok. I get it.
Does that make me any less of a Pagan if I decide to fight back?
I consider myself Pagan. Though I see Kali as the Divine Mother.
I don't think I've been reported yet.
We need more Pagan voices in that section. There are only 2 or three Pagan answers I've seen so far, excluding myself.

JAI KALI MA!

I had a strange experience the other night. I was so tired. I woke up at 2 am and heard my daughters clock radio playing her door was shut and when I opened it I thought I saw a little girl with dark curly hair I was so tired I figure I was seeing things now I wonder?

I am just curious if any of you have encountered anything that you would define as a "ghost" or "spirit"?
I know I never have. I think something like that is possible, but highly unlikely. One thing that I could never understand about the "ghost" concept is how they float through walls, but not through floors or the ground. If they are incorporeal, they should be able to float through anything. Anyway, I really am curious about this. Are the religious types the only ones that see ghosts, or am I making a false assumption?
