From my last post, I gather that you don't want to talk on the Religion section because you don't want to get reported and sick of poeple putting you down.

"do what ye will; let it harm none."
ok. I get it.
Does that make me any less of a Pagan if I decide to fight back?
I consider myself Pagan. Though I see Kali as the Divine Mother.
I don't think I've been reported yet.
We need more Pagan voices in that section. There are only 2 or three Pagan answers I've seen so far, excluding myself.

I am a Wiccan Witch and i have been on R&S for six months.... somtimes it seems there is noone around but other times we seem to dominate the board! Look at my contacts most of them are pagans!
Yes i understand how hard it is for us to evermind the rule of three.....but sometimes you can be quite justified to fight back...i have discovered recently the best way to do this is to use my mind...witch functions far better than a christians who is only parroting scripture and hardly has any thought of their own!
Hand in there and be proud of who you are!
Blessed Be!

Well, I'm one that hangs out in Religion & Spirituality instead of Mythology & Folklore. I figure in M&F, people are mostly asking factual questions like "who is the goddess of" this or that, and I simply don't have the memory. I have a copy of Bulfinch's, but that's all. What I need, I think, is a copy of the Golden Bough.

Anyway, I figure I belong in the Spirituality part of R&S, although it is legitimate to refer to my religion generally as Wicca. Some people have started using that as a brand name, and making it more specific than I use it. I suspect there is a book or series of books I have missed which has become the "standard" reference for Wicca as a religion. Maybe I'll go ask a question about that.

Acutally, there's plenty of Pagans on R&S. Sometimes we get lost in the noise, but we're there.

"Harm none" (or whatever derivative of the Wiccan Rede you want to groove with) doesn't apply to all Pagans - heck, it doesn't even apply to *most* Pagans. So don't think that not following it means that you're going to have your Pagan ID card and secret decoder ring revoked or anything.

Fighting back is perfectly fine.

Merry meet Jai, I have been posting in R & S for quite some time now and have NEVER been reported. Actually there are quite a few of us in there and I have run into very little discrimination in that section. I answer the questions with respect and try to be as honest and open as I can. As a result I have been getting a LOT of positive feedback. Perhaps it's in the WAY you have answered questions or asked Questions that leaves you feeling that you are being attacked or ostracized. I even have a number of folks who have added me to their "Friends list" who are Muslim, Christian and Jewish. So I fail to see what you have been referring to at all.
But then again, I don't take criticism personally so I simply may not be seeing the same thing that you're seeing. Try not to take things so personally and develop a thicker skin.

If you're going to be a Wicth then that's PART of the package. Folks have been hating us for thousands of years, they're NOT going to change overnight. What it takes to get them to consider changing is seeing us behave towards them with respect and acceptance. Some will attack but MOST will be just as respecting as you are towards them. Don't give up on them just yet. just be gentle with them, they simply need to get to know us better.

Brightest Blessings,
Raji the Green Witch

I'm not a Pagan and rather new to "Y!A" - will people really report you for discussing it on this forum? I support you all the way because I'm more interested in hearing about your religion than Christianity - if only because there's PLENTY of discussion out there on Christianity. And I'm tired of the "Who loves Jesus, YAY?" questions. ;-) Can't you counter-report those who don't respect your religious beliefs? Sheesh.

Merry Meet, dont forget, "do as ye will, an ye harm none", includes harming yourself as well. Defending yourself is ok, but, dont use magick against someone who simply bothered you. Its silly to sit around, and let someone walk up and hit you. You arent "less of a Pagan" if you hit back. Merry Part

You can defend yourself and still follow the rede of "An it harm none, do what thou whilt." You don't have to hurt someone else to protect yourself. Consider looking at it this way. Someone threatens you. You then report them to the authorities, like the police or the principal. They are then punished somehow by the authorities, say jail time or detention or a fine. This punishment is for their own good, hopefully it will teach them not to do wrong, thus it is helping them, not hurting them. As long as you are not out to purposefully hurt them for hurting you, that that is not your goal, if harm does come to them somehow, I'd say it is not your fault and you are not breaking the rede.

I'm a Pagan. I don't run around shouting it from the rooftops here on Y!A because there are people who will report just for that, but I don't hide it if someone asks.
Peace

I have always believed that we all have the right to defend ourselves. When I say that I am talking about situations where I feel physically threatened or one of my loved ones is. But if you are talking about here on answers, I guess we just have to do the best we can to defend our way of thinking and let the cards fall where they may. Blessed Be

I belive strongly in defending ourselves. I never hesitate to defend myself on R&S or anywhere and have never been reported. You keep right on sticking up for yourself and others.

Oh and BTW, pay no attention to Antioccult and the "luciferian" stuff. There's not even any such word. That person is either incredibly misinformed or deliberately spreading misinformation.
