Is it possible that during the big bang, or some other universal collision, that all our mythical creatures were on a piece of rock that was blown away into the cosmos, and they still live on a planet far, far away!???
Or, that they were the unfortunate ones that lived on the bits of earth that were flooded or opened into large crevasses'. If they dug up the grand canyon would they find unicorn bones????
(I am not suggesting that they should, by the way!)

No during the big bang which was supposedly to be the creation of the earth according to some scientists the "mythical creatures couldn't have been alive because where would they live if they truly originated from the earth.
Mythological creatures were created by us to explain the unexplainable.
The ancient greeks told of wondrous tales about unicorns and centaurs and gods like apollo and aphrodite. This was so because at the time people didn't have the advanced technologies or"teachings" that we have today. The mythological creatures HUMANS created can't be on other planets (although I do believe in life on other planets)because they are *earthlings* .
I doubt that if they dig into the grand canyon they'll find unicorn bones or griffin bones or such things. Scientists have already been digging in the grand canyon and so far they haven't found any mythological creatures(not that I know of)
Even if one or some of the myhtological creatures actually existed they would be rare and there might only be one or two. Afer all in the animal world there are a few oddities. Some animals that we know of now like the platypus were believed to be myths because of the weird shape of their bodies and the fact that they only live in some parts of the world. There are also other rarities such as the white lobster that emerge every decade or so
While it may be possible that some myths are real almost all of them are fake. Don't be fooled into thinking that something exists when it really doesn't.
The truth is that all myhtological creatures are where they belong----In our IMAGINATION.
Hope this answered your question

Have you ever played the game where you are in a circle and whisper the message onto the next person. By the end of the round the original message has changed into something different, sometimes logical sometimes not. Well, its like that with folklore and mythologies. These stories where passed on from generation to generation, from god knows how long ago, be being retold thousands of times. Giving them plenty of time to change into a form that we can just guess what their origin is. All you needed for the unicorn myth was someone travelling to Africa and seeing a rhinoceros. Trying to describe something you have seen to people who have never seen it can be tricky. Then later in comes a trader with a Narvel horn. Voila! Unicorns emerge into folklore.

I hate to point this out, but the Grand canyon is "dug up". That's how it got there. As for being blown into outer space, I hope they had on pressure suits. I would think a more likely place would be at higher elevations where creatures are forced to go to evade mankind. Get your pick and follow me!

Thats a great theory! I believe in mythological beings myself. You could well be right about them all living on another planet far away.
If anyone ever managed to unearth the Grand Canyon i feel sure that Unicorn bones etc would be found.
I also think more people should be less sceptical about other beings. Just cos no one has evidence doesn't mean they didnt exist. they found Dinasours afterall! :)

I would love to see where the phoenix lives.
The neverending story has a planet - fantasia, which was all but destroyed. The land of mythical creatures is real - in your dreams. That makes it more available than anything concrete. nice question

hey, anything is possible, I mean mythical creatures dont have to be MYTHICAL. If thats what you believe then thats your desion.
you might get a lot of answers that disagree with you but remeber other people have there own theories.
When i was younger i remeber hearing somwhere that there was no more unicors and dragons because they didnt belive noah when he said there was going to be a flood, so they died! haha yeah so thats my theory

This question makes me feel so wistful. It's a bit like chasing dreams. It makes me look into my heart and my head and ask me what is real and what is just imagined or perceived. I don't know if your question takes me to the gates of Heaven or the mouth of Hell. They both feel like one and the same thing at the moment. I'm off to put the kettle on. :)

i like that idea, i think that they were all extinct like the dinosaurs, we mustve found them and hunt them down-unfortunate... but since they were said to be mythical and said to be magical, they couldve just changed their form. the thought that they could be on distant planets could be true but, if there were animals, then they would look a lot more different alien and all
