I'm a native Spanish speaker but I'm certainly surprised at the use of Anglicism in some answers I've read here. Anglicism is a word of English origin adapted somehow to Spanish (i.e. carpet being translated as carpeta instead of alfombra).
My question is this: is there a dictionary or web site of commonly used Anglicism?
Thank you

I know Veritas Lux Mea, means Truth is my light. I don't know how to properly conjugate shield or even if I'm using the proper verb... I know Tego can mean roof, to conceal, even to lie as in to hide the truth... but it can also mean to shield or to protect. Thank you for your help.

In English, why is it "I look forward to hearing from you" and not "I look forward to hear from you?" . Is the "hearing" part of the sentence a gerund?

There was a question asked a while back about how fast a language evolves. The best answer chosen was that a language will become incomprehensible in 500 years. Another good answer (in my opinion) was 5% of change with every generation.

My question for discussion is this:

Will television, the Internet, global economy, etc... slow the change of language? Will people 500 years from now (assuming America isn't conquered and the language is replaced) speak an English we would understand? Although there will be tons of dialects like there is today, will standard English be roughly the same as it is today?

Let's have some well thought out educated guesses!

Hoy estar su aniversario y ellos lo (celebrar) _______ en su club favorito.

What would be more correct for the blank? Estan celebrando, or estan celebrandose?

Also, why is estar used for date and not ser. Isn’t that specific day always their anniversary?
