Hey guys,
I was wondering if, for instance, let's say someone listened to tapes in a foreign language they had no exposure to before everyday for hours with no help (asking someone what something means or looking it up online, etc.) just listen to them, could they in time eventually come to understand that language, what do you think? This is something I was just curious about. Thanks

They say they are 'proud to be Welsh' but can't hold a conversation(sometimes not even a sentence) in the language of their country.We true Welsh see them as Englishmen(Saeson) with a welsh accent.
How many Frenchmen do you know that can't speak french,or a Spaniard who can't speak Spanish.
I realise some were not given the chance when they were young but living for years in a country without a basic knowlege of the language shows contempt not pride.What's to stop them learning.When I go to foreign countries I at least make an attempt to learn the local language.

i googled the word and mostly found it quoted in a story called "barranca abajo" by florencio sánchez. i translated the page into english on google but the word did not translate. this is going to drive me crazy until i can find out what it means.

Does anyone know a good website where I can find basics for sign language. I already looked it up at yahoo and found some sites, but some of them have different signs for the words I'm looking for, even though they're all for american sign language. So I don't know which one is right.

Ok I'm not trying to diss on mexicans I'm just wanting your opinion. (I have a lot of mexican friends so I'm not racists or anything) At my work there are always people who can't speak english and it bugs me so bad! They are always wanting special privlages cuz they don't know our language. Like when I'm taking their order, they want someone else to take it, I really hate that. I just think that if you are going to live in another country, you should learn the lanuage first. What do you guys say?

ive been learning arabic from this website and i just about can read it but it doesnt read to english anyone know why and can you read from arabic script to translate to english or will it only translate to arabic language i really do need help with this one cause the problem is i can read some of it but it just reads to the arabic lanuage and i do not no arabic lanuage to translate to english anyone help please also are there any websites that u can learn arabic to translate to english please please help
