my last name is Banuelos, its sounds spanish(from spain) but my dad is from mexico. Just wondering

It's a spanish name. You shouldn't be surprised. A lot of spanis names can be found in Mexico. As far as I know, mexico was a spanish territory before it's independence.

It's definitely of Spanish origen whether he's from Mexico or Spain.
