Yesterday Jamie Foxx was on a late night talk show--Conan O'Brien, I think. He said his 40th birthday was coming up and he was throwing a party with the theme "New Jack City", his favorite movie. What a good idea!, I thought. My favorite movie is "West Side Story", and it's my favorite musical, too. My 50th birthday was last December, and though I haven't had the big party yet, I'm still thinking of doing it.

So...with "West Side Story" as the theme, how would you handle the party: food and cake, decorations, clothing, music, etc.?

Our class was thinking of something like ahalloween theme... but no one really wants halloween in may.. so I was wondering if anyone kne wof a them that is like dark and mystic almsot but not halloween and it cant be like Vampires and Zombies themses cause thats pretty much like halloween. Thnx

I'm in unfamiliar territory with this one. My children have some friends who, over the last few days, have been sharing their food with us as part of ramadan - I've been told that as a westerner it is possibly one of the best compliments they could have paid me and my children. Kind of an acceptance thing, which is awesome! I would really like to buy the children a little something for Eid, as a way of saying thankyou for thinking of us, but I have no idea. What sort of things do you think would be suitable? I really don't want to mess this up!

Mine is January, I find it so depressing as all the christmas trees come down, so all those light twinkling go out, and other than valentines day in February its usually just cold dark and wet and spring is so far away

Thinkin strongly of having a nice slobbin-out day for a change

Stayin in my Pjs all day, startin with a big fry up and loads of junk later on and watchin Eastenders Omibus , and havin a nice soak in a bubblebath later
