You have my vote on January - it's so cold and dark.
I can cope up to New Year - all the street lights, shops all bright and cheerful. Then comes January - I have an outside light controlled by a photoelectric cell, and every weekend after Christmas I write the time down when the light switches on. Without this I'd start to think that it was never going to get light again, but seeing those odd quarter hours adding up keeps me sane!
Spent last Christmas and most of January with friends in NZ - I didn't have a cold and chest infection as I usually do, and felt so much happier.
Have you come across the Michael Flanders and Donald Swann song about "The Seasons" - starts "January brings the snow - makes your feet and fingers glow. February's Ice and sleet freeze the toes right off your feet..." It's a real hoot!
Finishes with "Freezing wet, December, then............b****y January again"!
Plan, at least once in your life, to spend January in Oz or NZ.

I have to agree with you, mine would be january and feb it just all feels so flat after xmas then cold starts turning into wet and cold which is even worse, but i do love december i love the build to xmas, oh and my birthday but i love the thought of wrapping up all snug and walking and a crisp frost street and sitting in front of an open fire what more could you want.

I hate November and January - there is no colour - everywhere is grey, the light is too low and if the sun does shine, it hits you smack in the eyes while you are driving, and your visors aren't low enough to stop you being dazzled. The days are too short - it seems nearly dark all day. At least in February the green starts to perk up, spring flowers like crocus and snowdrops start to appear, and the days start to draw out - and it's a short month!

I agree with most of the other answers, January is depressing and following Christmas and New Year celebrations, it's flat. However i lost my Mum in June this year so i don't like June anymore, nor December as this year will be my first Christmas without her.

January. Bitterly chilly and doubtless by no ability ending darkness. whilst it snows (it many times starts off around the start of Jan), each thing is disrupted, the heating can not shop up with the coolness, people die of hypothermia, vegetables are frozen and ineffective, animals interior the fields go through, hospitals are pushed to the bounds with fractures from falls and the flu virus hits stressful. that's dark shortly after 4.0 p.m. and not correct mild till 9.0 a.m. this manner of dark time of 12 months.
