My friends and I are going trick-or-treating and this is my last year I'm allowed to (I'm in junior high). We are three girls and we really want to go out with a bang! We already have:
peace,love, and happiness
the fates
muses
greek goddesses
abercrombie,american eagle, and hollister
conscience
smores
hocus pocus witches
sleeping beauty fairies
candy bars
clue characters
the 'no evil' things
twenties girls
vampires
Elphaba, Galinda, and Nessa/Madame Morrible (Wicked)
Roxie, Velma, and Mama (Chicago)
Charlies Angles
Ghosts of Past Present and Future
Dixie Chicks
3 peas in a pod
The Nights who say NIE
pixies

I guess our question is which to do or if you have any other good ideas. There are cute guys in the neighborhood too so make them cute, but not toooo revealing! We are only in junior high!

Ive never been afraid of going out on Halloween. But last year, my life was threatened.

On the way up the hill to my house, my friends and I saw this group of highschool guys smoking at the bottom of the hill. We tried to walk by quietly when one of them slurred, "Who are you?"

I decided to use humor, and cracked, "Who are you?" and when they said, "What's your name," and "How old are you?" I answered snottily.

Which is when they started following us. They pulled something out of their pockets, yelling, "You're lucky we're nice. Because some people might follow you into the shadows and shoot you." They laughed and left. Shortly after, we heard five gunshots, and saw lights at the bottom of the hill. The next day, there was a news article about the playground at our lake being set on fire, and two homeless dogs shot and killed.

Im afraid the same thing'll happen this year. Except we'll get hurt instead.

I'm thinking of dressing up as Moses. I like the idea, but I don't want to offend anyone. Is this considered sacreligious/poor taste etc? It's not as if I would be portraying Moses in any certain light, I just want to dress up as him.

how should my lawn be set up?

I have a tombstone, a scarecrow, a bat that is supposed to be put in the ground, two wooden pumpkins:a big one and a small one that has light up eyes, a lantern, and some fake cobwebs.

The lawn consists of several large bush trees in front of a window that is next to the door. there is a brick walkway running btwn my driveway and the lawn, and a lamp post surrounded by flowers is by the walkway.

how should i set the stuff up and is there anything i should add (nothing grusome my neighbors have small children)

When I was in kindergarten I remember singing this song. Now that I am older (I like to think not by much) the words have faded with my childhood. These are the only to parts I remember...
"The witch is stirring her brew" and "The cat is black and that's a fact".
I know this is not much to go on but any help would be appreciated. I would like to teach this song to my stepson, so he can sing it to his friends at our Halloween party. Thanks!

I've heard of a haunted house in the NJ, PA area. You start out as a group and they slowly seperate you and if you make it to the top of the house you get your $ back. Does this sound familiar has anyone ever been there or heard of it?

I'm looking for some good ideas for stories that I can tell my cousins. One is three and the other one is like six or seven. I want to give them a good scare, but not TOO scary.

Anyone is welcome to respond, even if you aren't a Christian. But as for me personally, I choose not to celebrate Halloween, on the basis that it's a wicked holiday. Now, I am not a paranoid extremist- but I just feel in my heart that it's improper to celebrate a holiday where evil things are celebrated. I am not going to preach to others, and tell them what to do. I think people should decide for themselves.

But for my fellow Christians- do you pass out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween? Is that okay in the eyes of the Lord?

The way I feel about this is that it's okay to give out candy to little kids, because they need to have fun while they're young. At the same time, however, I feel an urge to hand out Bibles or at least quotes from the Bible in addition to candy. In a way, I think that people should understand that Halloween is a wicked holiday. Am I an extremist for believing these things?

Please share your opinions.
