Also need to buy for my sisters. They are 10 and 7. My parents are 42 and 32. My grandparents are 54 and 53 and my great grandpa is 82. Help !!! I am totally clueless . . .

If you buy a lot of gifts for family and friends, do you wrap them bit by bit? So you dont have a lot to do at once, and you have the wrapping out of the way. Or are you a last minute wrapper and spend half of Christmas Eve wrapping every ones gifts......till the wee hours?

What if you do not give gifts and just pray and stay in the house and don't celebrate Christmas, and still believe there's God, is that will make you a sinner?.

Since everyone here has spoken out about how commercialism bothers them, what are you doing this year that does not involve any at all? Will you make those things lifelong traditions or not?

What's the tradition surrounding mistletoe and what trees are most likely to grow mistletoe?

It's said to be the time when people are nicer than normal but I have only ever seen the opposite. It brings out the worst in people.

What is so important that everyone has to be in such a rush all the time and courtesy toward others goes straight out the window? City streets and parking lots that normally have next to no people, are congested and no one is willing to let anyone else go where they need to go. So something that normally takes you 5-10 mins now takes you closer to an hour at the least.

I finally figured this out. Santa Claus is actually an employee of the American government paid to make and buy toys to distribute to little kids on Christmas Eve as a goodwill gesture.

He gets all his benefits; medical, dental, 401, pension (but why would he need one).

Anyone agree with me on this?

NOTE: This is merely out of humor and I don't really believe in the physical Santa.

people who would cringe when carols are being played or sung, people who feels lost when people talks about christmas preparations, people who thinks that a person next to him/her is weird because he/she is squealing with delight and excitement for christmas, people who would block out the thoughts of christmas and who would deny the fact that it's time to celebrate, people who would choose to drink himself/herself to sleep than to stay awake for the celebration. do you know of one? are you one of them?

I love Christmas but I'm just really not into it this year. Probably just because it doesn;t feel like it at all. It's hard to believe it's 5 days away. I don't know if its because I haven;t had any time to watch any movies or something, The Muppet Christmas Carol usually gets me into it though. Also probably because I've got a lot of other things on my mind. And also I usually take a few days and go shopping all day but no time this year, I just run to the mall quickly the last few days.

I'm tired of hearing about how it's so "offensive," especially from people who supposedly celebrate Christmas! If you want to celebrate a holiday but not adhere to what it's for, that's your own issue in my opinion.

Then there are people of other faiths who are offended, and honestly I think that is silly too. I am not offended by the mention of a Jewish or Muslim holiday, so why should someone be offended by a Christian holiday? The fact is, this whole festive season exists BECAUSE OF Christmas--whether anyone likes it or not.

Sorry to get up on my soap box, but I am really sick of people acting like it's perfectly fine to try to suppress Christianity... but to do so to anyone else is WRONG! Right? I don't think so. By the way, I am a Democrat and not at all the stereotype that some may think of me just because of this question. But I'm tired of it.
