Not really, we make foods that most people don't know of outside of the states (Brigadieros--Brazilian chocolate candy and Rouladen--German meat rolls). We have all the family over for drinks, enjoyment, let the kids open one gift and then make a mad rush after they fall asleep to make sure that everything is set for the morning!

Merry Christmas. Every xm tree decoration has a number on it, we have a note book with the info on that ornament. Our list goes back 32 years. Some of the ornaments are over 8o years old. We received from our grandparants. Each year get out the list and look up each number as we put it up. Takes a long time to put up the tree, but we enjoy. Our list is up to the 900s now.

About 8 or 9 years ago, I started to realize that there wasn't really much I wanted in terms of material stuff any more. What I really want is more spiritual and more personal. So I asked my husband and children to write down a memory for me, and I do the same for each of them. We now have a notebook filled with family memories, and we all cherish them. There are no rules to the "Christmas memory." There is no topic, no assigned length, no particular time frame - just anything you remember.

Since my own father is deceased and my elderly mother is beginning to have memory loss issues, it just becomes more clear to me how valuable it is for a family to have our collective stories written down. So every Christmas morning, we read aloud the "memories" we have given each other, and it's one of the high points of the holidays.

A dough is made, then rolled very skinny, then tossed onto a griddle... this will become observed brown, cooked ~ then that's placed between 2 moist towels to relax, and the moisture makes it gentle returned... that's one heck of an appetizer, you butter it, roll it up, slice it in peices... and Voila ... the wolves come... won't be able to look to get sufficient of it... On Christmas day, we all get together and play Monopoly. I know that doesn't sound real unusual, but it gets rowdy and loud and fun and crazy.

We always set an extra place at our table "the strangers place". More than once it has been filled. On the twenty third and twenty fourth we packed and delivered food and gift hampers to the needy.
