Every year I am faced with the problem of buying for the mulitude of men in my family. Seems to me they all buy what they need and want when they need and want it, so that makes it really difficult to buy them Christmas presents. Somebody give me some ideas of what they would like to find under the tree. (and don't say socks and underwear as I don't believe that). Please be as specific as possible. Thanks.

Do you get individual cards from Hallmark or buy boxed sets at store of your choice? Or do you make your own with rubberstamps?

I'm planning to purchase random things for Christmas and put them in a package for my friend (teenage girl) because I don't really know what to get her. Any ideas?

So far I got:

-a teen magazine
-midol
-school supplies
-small sized hand sanitizer

I'm buying Christmas presents based on the first adverts I see on TV. Here goes....

Mum - Tesco potatoes
Dad - Vicks First Defence hand foam
Brother - Miami Vice on DVD
Wife - VO5 Extreme style hair wax
Mother-in-law - Monsters of Rock (Triple CD)
Dad-in-law - Non-slip Scholl party feet
Grandmother - Imodium plus

I may not be popular with my family but at least I don't have to think about it too much. Plus, my Gran suffers from constipation (I think) so Imodium might not help much.

Merry Christmas

I've heard bits and pieces, but does anyone really know how that story came about and why it was associated with Christmas? I know what Christmas is, (the day that Jesus was born), but I would love to here the real story behind Santa Claus.

How old are you and don't you just miss when we were a kid and thought Santa was a real "person"?

All the women in my workplace drew names to buy another person a Christmas gift, valued at less than $20. What can I buy a 40-something, spiritual, hip, very funny lady???

They ship, take returns in stores and it is so much easier. I don't get it why does everyone go crazy this time of year, with modern technology.

People keep saying that Santa clause is real because he gives you presents. But other people think their parents hide the presents and give it to them the next day. Is he real, give me your opinion and why.

My little sister is 14 years younger than me and I don't see her very often...so I'm clueless what her interests might be (besides cell phones, makeup, and other things I REFUSE to get for her). Any ideas?

My husband wants a real tree this year, and I've never had one. I'm nervous about the tree catching fire because of the lights, and I'd rather just not put lights on it. I've never seen a Christmas tree without lights (or I haven't paid attention). Does anyone have a tree without lights? How does it look?

Alrighty, I am looking for some GREAT ideas for some Christmas presents to make. I want creative ideas. Gifts in a jar aren't so original anymore neither is knitting a scarf or quillows. I want something that a teen could easily do. Yeah, I may sound picky, but this is what I am looking for. I need some ideas for two best friends (girls), mom, dad, and two siblings that are 20 (one guy, one girl) and a grandma. If you have any good ideas that are original and creative. Maybe if you have a website that you got it off of, or a story of people's reactions when you gave the gift to them. That would be super great. Thank you so very muc.

Our family decided to draw names for Christmas this year, and I got the name of my dad's fiancee's 12 year old son. He's not really into sports, but likes some video games (I think he has a PS2 and definately a computer). If I remember correctly, he likes Green Day and similar music. I've been toying with the idea of a gift certificate (we've got a $40 limit), but I'd like to get him something else that's a little less impersonal. I'm nearly 30, so it's been a while since I've thought like a 12 year old *laughs* Help?
