Our family decided to draw names for Christmas this year, and I got the name of my dad's fiancee's 12 year old son. He's not really into sports, but likes some video games (I think he has a PS2 and definately a computer). If I remember correctly, he likes Green Day and similar music. I've been toying with the idea of a gift certificate (we've got a $40 limit), but I'd like to get him something else that's a little less impersonal. I'm nearly 30, so it's been a while since I've thought like a 12 year old *laughs* Help?

Hey! I know how you feel, I find it hard even getting presents for my friends! :)
I'd suggest to ask what video games he likes. Most computer and PS2 fans will like games such as SimsCity or Sims2 (and these have extension packs as well). If he likes GreenDay I pressume he'll like rock music in particular. So maybe think of My Chemical Romance, Snow Patrol, Lost Prophets or Papa Roach...CD's, posters, music logo jumpers are good presents too.

^_^

Kids love to get lots of presents... maybe you could buy him a nice wrist watch (digital of course) and cologne, and maybe a backpack (daypacks are what I'm thinking of) not camping style packs. They are very useful for over night trips, or just for keeping things together in like cell phone, wallet, dayplanner, notebook paper.

Does he have an MP3 player? Get him a gift card to get whatever music he wants. Just find a unique way to wrap it. Put it in a new wallet.
