Why do shops always stock up on chocolates, wine etc in preparation for Valentine's Day? It is generally assumed that chocolates are given by guilty partners trying to keep their partners sweet so why asssociate chocolate with Valentine's day?

I got the 'mrs' a wonderful card, a little book of love and some flowers. We plan to spend a romantic night in, you know...good meal, which I'll cook and watch a DVD, then an early night.
Is that enough?

(i'm using my sisters name on yahoo)
i'm 17 years old, i've been doing out with my girlfriend for 3 months and i'm going to suprise her at her friends house today with her favorite flowers (daffodils) but i'm not sure what else i can do. she's mad at me from yesterday, but I did it on purpose so the shock of today wih flowers etc. would make it that much better!

I have two step children ages 7 and 8 and we disagree on how to do the Easter Bunny. The way my family did it was have the children put their baskets out in the living room the evening before so the Bunny could find them and fill them and then in the morning they would be filled with all kinds of things. His family had the kids put them in the living room the night before then the "bunny" would hide them around the house and when you woke up you would have to go and find your basket. Which way is better? The only problem I see with hiding them is when the basket is overflowing where do you put those things?

My husband works third shift and he gets home about 7:30 am. I have a kinda special morning planned for him . I have decorated our bedroom a little and I have also spelled out I LOVE YOU with the o's in shape of hearts on My dresser with the little candy conversation hearts. I am 30 years old and have been single for the last 5 years. I look at couples on this day and wonder why I am not in love with someone like that. Sometimes I want to just slap the couples that are showing affection with each other. But knowing that it is not there fault either. The stars are just working better for them then me this year.
