food is very closely linked with emotion and can evoke emotion very easily - it acts in a much more immediate way on the hormonal and chemical reactions within your brain and body than any other gift could. chocolate makes your brain create more serotonin, thus giving you that fuzzy warm feeling; wine obviously makes you feel warm and fuzzy and basically any food that you really love the taste of makes you feel good by affecting your body on an emotional 'oh he got me a gift' way but also on a basic instinctual chemical level!

Absolutely. Chocolate contains a natural 'love drug'. Tryptophan is a chemical that the brain uses to make a neurotransmitter called serotonin. High levels of serotonin can produce feelings of elation, even ecstasy - hence the name of the designer drug that also works by increasing serotonin levels.
While tryptophan could be considered 'chocolate's ecstasy', another chemical called phenylethylamine has earned the nickname 'chocolate amphetamine.' High levels of this neurotransmitter help promote feelings of attraction, excitement, giddiness and apprehension. Phenylethylamine works by stimulating the brain's pleasure centres and reaches peak levels during orgasm.
I got my boyfriend for Valentine's Day a Kama Sutra Lover's Paintbox. It's a box of 3 different types of edible body chocolate. :) We gonna play tonight... yahoo!!! LOL
Happy Valentine's Day everybody!!!
Lots of Hugs and Kisses!!!

Yeap. But chocolates do not stimulate sexual appetite in the physical way, as spicy food would. But, nevertheless, because of customs and traditions, chocolate stimulate our mental faculty for sex. And since sex is all in the mind, you can say that chocolate, meant for love and affection, can stimulate our mental faculties towards the givers.
All the best!/

Fat people love food and sweets. And if you look around you will find most women get fat soon after they get married. So if a man is going to give his wife something that she loves its going to be fattening. You will notice that women seldom if ever buy chocolates for men.

Yes. Chocolates induce positive "happy" endorphins into the blood stream; wine makes everybody happy and full of love.

I think guilt has noting to do with it. Chocolate and wine are romance specials, so to speak.
If no romance, at least we can have Chocolate!
