No! It's not a public holiday or anything and I think as long as you spend the evening with your partner (if you both want to!) it's fine. It's really only an excuse to either be sexy or romantic or both for at least one day of the year!

No, it's "lame" to look for one more reason to NOT work.

No wonder every other country on earth is kicking our industrial *ss and taking our jobs. They not only work 16 hour shifts with no safety plans, they send their small children to do the same thing.

Meanwhile, we sit back and whine about it. I have a feeling that many more UNEMPLOYED Americans will have much more to whine about soon.

So yeah, call off, your boss didn't hire you to actually work, he only wants a seat warmer who occasionally shows up and costs the company thousands. Yep, that is the way to keep jobs in this country.

Of course it isn't. What is lame is the way that what used to be a fairly quiet, personal kind of day has been hi-jacked by big business all trying to sell expensive bunches of roses and bottles of pink champagne.

Is that an option? I wish someone had told me that. It's lame to work if you have the option... though I do it all the time.

Depends what you wanted to do for the day. If it means that much to you, you can book the day off in advance!! I used to do that for birthdays and special day for me. book the day off so I can enjoy it to the full. Also depends if you can afford to take the day off too. Its not a public holiday so not everyone needs the day off.
