Raise up your eyes to the high points looking over our sacred moors - see to the East ... The Truthkeeper, the luminous Lady Barbara, to the West ... The Quiet Protector ... Lady Sylvia, look to the South - The Wise and Watching - Lilabner and to the north The Twin Wraiths of Nonecan and Luvspbr2 and the ranks of our warriors are swelled by the heart and strong loin of Grodno. The silence is pregnant with the anticipation of the victory to come. We all watch and wait. For in our nostrils now comes to stench of those that have lost their waste in the fear of what dread is about to descend upon their un-holy souls. And Gracie - so well called - murmers under her breath the chants from ages past that brought us strength to retake that which is ours. Built on the words that brought forth laughter and light and joy. Taken by the unseen thumb of despair. We are poised and we are as one. We breathe as one from the oxygen that is loyalty and love. Fill your lungs and be ready with our cry.

Low lying to the moorland - do ye see the armies gathering? Do you hear the whisper that rumbles through the forest? Do ye ken the wee woodland creatures turn their faces to the West - for they feel the groundswell, and they hear the thousand voices joining in unison, sharing the oath. For this time we come not rattling sabres - this time we come in stealth, we will steal the coat of darkness and anonimity that our scurrilous foes live under - and we will creep in to their dens to oust them and bring them to the light so that all may see their shamed faces. But hush ........ the mists disappear as silently as they arrive ....... the time is not yet .... count the heatbeats til ye hear the call to arms and keep in your lungs the cry of the downtrodden and maljudged and the silenced -

The kind that brings friends together that are worlds apart?
The kind that can mend the lowest of hearts?
The kind that resounds & seeks no berth
As it encircles our great & wonderful earth?
The kind that loves & gives us hope?
The kind that keeps our boats afloat?

This morning about 8am, a
contractor of CalTrans (our
Cal highways dept.) was using
a backhoe in S. Humboldt Cnty. He severed the fiberoptics line and immediately we lost:
all 800 lines/most of the internet/all ATM machines/
some emergency lines.
It is now 6 hrs later and they
have not been restored.
I am on the internet because
I have dial-up on a local telephone line.
My question is: What would happen in your community if
main lines were severed?

When I was a child, my grandpa said he was going to come back and haunt me after he died. I begged him not to but he seemed to get some pleasure out of refusing my pleas. He just said, "I'm going to do it." I'm now 31 and my grandpa died five years ago. I'm constantly looking over my shoulder. Have any of you seniors done this to your grandchildren? If so, did you mean it?

And the mists came in from the moors - the chickens in the wee hoose went very very quiet and down from yon brae came a mountain of a man in a kilt and very little else? And the stories we shared kept us a tight and close clan - as with all tales from a magic place - they must be past on by word of mouth to spread the magic. For in all tales of magic there must be evil doers - and they came and they stole our laughter. The keepers now of the laughter are brave and honest clansfolk - look you to Jilly and Barbara and Justme and The Dragons - who though fierce fought only for the good of the clan - look to the warriors McTealc and Goldwing and O'Rielly for inspiration ......... the seed has been sown and now - as in all magic stories - it will grow and evil WILL be defeated. Watch out and wait for the wind to change again ...... the mist will descend and bring with it more magic than can be concieved in the mind of the wee evil trolls.

would you choose to have an adventure and go somewhere with lots of things to see and do? They both sound great, but quiet and restful would be my choice right now. Maybe to a peaceful lake with pretty fall colors. How about you?

I do not recall having seen much to bring smiles, smirks, laughter, etc.
i.e. Subject: Some ideas for retired husbands or how to prevent being dragged along on shopping trips.
(First, an introduction, by way of a letter to Mrs. XXXXXXX from a major mass marketer)
Dear Mrs. XXXXXXX,
Over the past 6 months, your husband, Mr. YYYY XXXXXXX , has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this type of behavior and have considered banning the entire family from shopping in any of our stores.
We have documented several incidences, three of our clerks are attending counseling, caused by your husbands activities. (ETC & ETC).
1. On June 3rd, moved a 'wet floor sign to the carpeted area.
2. On June 5th, took a jar of catchup, from the grocery dept, and made a trail, on the floor leading to the restrooms.
Anyone interested in my stories??

What a difference a sad event in Someone's life makes.
GEORGE CARLIN (His wife Recently died...)

A wonderful Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copi es than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

George Carlin

I didn't just fall off a turnip truck, but until this week I've never seen a white pumpkin. Is this a new breed of pumpkin? Have they been hiding in a pumpkin patch all these years? Do they only grow in certain places? Are these albino pumpkins; oh, no, they have no eyes or I would see that the eyes were pink. What's up with these white pumpkins?
