The New Year shooters are going around to peoples homes and shooting their muskets and wishing everone Happy New Year. It is a tradition from the german settlers in Cherryville North Carolina. They create a boom so loud that it can shake your house. My horse's and dog at first, runs around like crazy. They will continue through the night and probably till dinner time tomorrow. The fireworks will start soon for we have finally got some rain. We have been in a drought. Dont for get to eat your black-eye beans and turnip greens tomorrow. That is for health and money in the New Year. Happy New Year!!!It is12;00
