This is how coffee was made when I was a little child. You put the grounds in a pot with cold water and bring it to a boil. Turn it down and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Turn it off and let the grounds settle to the bottom. REAL COFFEE!

That's the way I've been making my coffee for many years. that's called,
"Cowboy coffee". You use less coffee
grounds and it tastes better. Just pour
it through a strainer into the cup.

Yes but it does not need to be boiling. It only needs to be hot enough to boil. You will need to let it steep or sit in the water for about 2or 3 minutes and then use a strainer. If you don't have a strainer you could let the grounds settle a bit and then sprinkle a few drops of cold water in the hot water to help settle the grounds and then gently pour some coffee into your cup. Don't drink all the way to the end of the cup and you will avoid grounds.
I make coffee in a French Press all the time. Same principle

A french press works like that. Put coffee grounds into the bottom and add hot water. Then after steeping for about 5 minutes, PRESS the grounds out of the coffee and viola! The grounds are separated. You can also do this method and then put a filter into a strainer and pour the coffee though it.
GOOD luck

Yes, you can. You'll want to strain it through a paper towel or a coffee filter after it's made, though...or just be patient enough to wait until the grounds settle to the bottom of your cup.

Sure then pour it through a close weave cloth, coffee filter or even paper towel. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Yes, pour the coffee grounds into the paper filter or a strong paper towel, tie or band the top tightly, and drop it into the boiling water, like a tea bag. Place it in the microwave, and heat to boiling again, two to three times. Remove the bag if it is strong enough. Had to do this in the camper a few times before I bought a coffee maker for it.

I think you can use something else to catch the coffee dripping down, I have swirled it to clean and hit the side of the sink and smashed a few myself.

You can take the filter and dip it in the hot water right in the cup and do it like a tea bag . I know someone from indonesia and she drinks the grounds but I cannot do that.
