I know I miss that tradition. I don't even feel like turning the t.v. on tonight because the stuff on now isn't worth it.

Yeah, I haven't really watched it on TV since he's been gone. It was a family tradition my whole life, to watch him.

I don't think I ever got to see him, we had to go to bed early and get up early to work on the farm.

He did have a great New Years Eve show. I had an uncle that was in show business. He and Mr. Lombardo were friends. I think my dad and mom met him once at some function. Wouldn't swear to it, I was pretty young.

As much as I "mocked" him when I was a child, I DO MISS GUY LOMBARDO these days!!!! This "New Year's Rockin' Eve" is a bunch of crap! It's just NOISE NOISE NOISE NOISE!
To quote Duke Ellington, "There are only TWO kinds of music, GOOD and BAD. I play only GOOD music."
Well... I listen to only GOOD music!

In some ways I do. I watched his show for a few years when I was young. It was the best New Years Eve show. I never really liked the New Years Rockin' Eve show on ABC. When Johnny Carson was still in NY, I remember watching his show, but after he moved to CA, it was never the same. Guy Lombardo was classy and the show was a classic and Ben Grauer was great as his man in Times Square.
