The first time I heard of sushi over 20 years ago, I thought it sounded disgusting. When my brother took me to a great Japanese restaurant and insisted I try some, I only did it to please him. Now it is my very favorite food! There is a great deal of variety, and as with many foods, don't even bother with the stuff you buy in the grocery or in an inferior restaurant, because you probably won't care for it; go to a great place, though, and spend more for it, and chances are you'll be as crazy about it as I am!

Ah, but if you knew sushi like I know sushi.

Thank you, I've been waiting to say that for a long time.

Yes, I do. Both sushi and shashimi. Not too much on warm wine.

They just opened an restaurant (Osaka) that does the sushi and hibachi. Haven't been able to pass the raw fish up to do the fancy cooking and cutting.

They don't consider sushi, but I like raw Louisiana oysters, too.

Am absolutely and unequivocably addicted to it, but i cut right to the chase,,,I don't care for all the rice in normal "sushi" I go for copious amounts of "sashimi",,,like salmon, tuna, yellowtail, eel, octupus, squid,,etc...now you made me hungry and it is only 8 AM New Years Day...hope I can find a Sushi bar open somewhere today...

Nope, most overpriced silliness I have ever seen...raw fish rolled in rice? I don't think so. Hell, from what i have seen, they even put seaweed in it! I think, at times, I may be a bit too midwestern :-) Phil

Never tried it. The idea of eating raw fish is quite unsavory. I will try it sometime. I don't want to miss anything.
