I realize I am stepping out on a limb here, 'cause God knows this is a tender subject. But I am asking you, with love in my heart towards all, how long will I be persecuted for something I had no part of - but punished for simply because I am white? Hasn't every culture done another wrong in history? Most cultures have been slaves at one point in time, have they not? Thank God we evolved to a more civil society though slavery has left its stain on the human race - to both sides who participated (those who bought and those who sold).

But my point (and question) is this, here in America what will it take to make ammends for the wrong white people did before my time to black people? At what point can we get past this and move forward? When can we say the slate is wiped clean and now we can begin again as Americans, diverse but as one?

I saw one a while ago, wearing a tight blue shirt that read GEEK in huge letters, which was made redundant by his tight brown pants, horn-rimmed glasses and Chuck Taylors. His hair was brown, shaggy and fashionably neglected. He looked about 15, and stared at the ground or at his hands until his dad came and got him (this was outside a motel, in the parking lot). That was a particularly memorable one. Have you seen any? Lots of people are asking emo questions nowadays. Have you ever seen one, or just heard about them? If you have, please describe in detail. 10 points for the best description.

2654 The AUTHENTIC Mr. Crowley has answered over 2,650 questions- his impostors have not! They took the same name as him and look exactly the same. I don't know how many there are, but one of them is a flaming racist. Click on his profile and scroll down to see his points - any less than 2,650 is a copycat, and needs to be reported! And since this needs to be a question, how stupid is copying somebody you dislike?

It does not seem right that blacks can have a united ***** college fund to send (only) a black kid to college. By singling out ANY race it's discrimination, same with Black history month, what if we had a White history month? or a white kid college fund? we would be called racist!! whats your take on this??

How do I inspire my younger sisters (13 and 14, respectively) to enjoy good music, instead of the disposable garbage - Boy bands, Dumb Country (lots of country music is well done; much of it isn't) pop-punk(Ashlee Simpson, Green Day, Simple Plan, MCR) pop (Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and - I shudder to think - Paris Hilton, Pop Tart). I've been vigilantly exposing them to better music - Siouxsie and the Banshees ("I didn't like it") to Leonard Cohen ("It's kind of depressed") The Cure, The Smiths (The 14-year-old liked the Smiths), Bjork, Indian Pop, Warren Zevon, The Pixies, The Ramones (The 14-year-old liked The Ramones), Nico, Goldfrapp, and Husker Du, et cetera. I have been letting them listen to truly good music for years. Yesterday the 14-year-old told me, giggling, that she liked a pop-punk band. I am aware that her tastes are different from my own, but I feel as though I have failed as a musical influence. In short: I am very bummed. What should I do?

There has been much debate about whether or not AA is religous or spiritual. When I attend meetings, I find that most people present are Christian and worship the Christian God. The word "God" is exchanged verbally and written in their literature. I am not Christian and when I accidently let that be known, I am told to "choose" a higher power. Frankly, I have no need to have a higher power to help me change a bad habit or behaviour. Like many humans, I make mistakes and can change. Sometimes I repeat my mistakes which is part of a personal learning process. I need to feel holistic pain to make changes from self-defeating behaviour like addictions to substance or drugs. Alcohol is a drug. I need to assume full responsibility for my behaviour without help from a mystical and mysterious spiritual being or religion. It's the human way! It works!

do you see a difference? I don't... when i say I'm sorry to someone in (da hood), they say "don't say you're sorry...say you apologize. you are not a sorry person".. i look at them like they're crazy. I am not saying i'm a sorry person...i'm saying that i'm sorry for whatever behavior i did.... i think the reason "ghetto, hood" people get offended by that is because some of them are sorry as a person....calm down, not everyone...I just notice they're real sensitive on that word -- and they really don't need to trip...any input?????
