It does not seem right that blacks can have a united ***** college fund to send (only) a black kid to college. By singling out ANY race it's discrimination, same with Black history month, what if we had a White history month? or a white kid college fund? we would be called racist!! whats your take on this??

I'm with you on this one! I never understood why people who seek equality seem to do their best to segregate themselves from the rest of society. Kinda tells me equality is not what people want, which is a shame, it only leads to more anger and resentment. It is wonderful to know your bloodline (in my case German) and take pride in it - but my grandad came here and proudly learned to be American, not "German-American".

A ***** fund....is it racist?
The sad thing is that it is necessary, the people in power make it so...The power is out there to end poverty, but will that ever happened? Don't bet on it, poverty keeps the rich rich!

It is depressing that their is such a divide in the society that we live...

Black people have suffered enormously along with many other non white ethnicity's. Unfortunately, for along time whites have invaded, raped, massacred and destroyed most things if not everything non white...

Mankind, there is nothing kind about it, there will always be someone who wants ultimate power, someone who thinks they are more deserving than another, Greed is the biggest divider out there and it fuels racism.

To want to deprive someone of an education or a better way of life is selfish and like it has already been said, there is enough money out there, so what if there is a *****/asian - ethnic fund.

And my question to you is this...why in hell would we need a white kid fund when every where you look there is white supremacy: TV, adverts, education, movies, music, employment....why are their so many haters to the black/non white race???

Personally - I don't understand why Black history month falls at different times of the year (feb in USA I think and Oct in the UK, doesn't make sense).
Why cant blackness be celebrated throughout the whole damn year, why the hell is it an occasion, so we can forget about it the rest of the year through....?

Now thats b.s...lol.x

It's not racist. It was created at at ime when blacks couldn't get funding for college. It just assures that a black person will get a scholarship. That's all. There are other scholarships that are race based. Native Americans have a bunch as do Hispanics.

You do know there are some schools that won't give a kid a scholarship based on race. Look at some of the private schools out there.

It is discrimination, but don't tell Jesse Jackson or AL sharpton that. the united ***** college fund was started years ago when racism was much worse than it is today, to give black kids a chance to succeed in life. but in modern society it is discrimination. any kid who wants to go to school can apply for any grant, scholarship, or loan these days and have just as good of a chance as the next guy of getting it, pending they are deserving of it of course, skin color doesn't even come into play. If someone was to start the united Caucasian college fund, the black leaders would be all over it. i say its time that they realize that they are just prolonging racism by having stuff like this around

do u realize how old the ***** college fund is... and your first clue should be the word *****, there was no money for most african americans who wanted to go to college... they did not have the opportunity to take advantage of big company grants..or scholarships.. and there were no grants for kids of maids.. garbage men..or slaves.. so i think taking action was smart. it is ashame that we criticize when people dont want an education and we find fault..when they try to improve themselves in other ways. it is my understanding that not just african americans.. benefit from this fund. it was necessary not for discrimination.. purposes. white history only was taught in schools atleast mine. the only blacks i ever read about was george washington carver and his peanut.. and harriet tubman.. and the underground railroad. so where else would you like african americans to find out about their history? it was only after i started seeing it on television that i learned that a black invented..the traffic light and other important information. it is always white history month... the scholarships for non blacks are abundant... and even the miss american pageant was formed because black women were not considered beautiful by societies..standards. so i would research a little more.. before labeling it racist.

I do not understand why you chose the United ***** College Fund when there are so many more funds, grants and scholarships offered to people of different races, based on their race.

no it's not!..and besides.. there are alot of grants and college funds u can apply for.. Blacks have had it hard in the past by prejudice discriminitive people who wouldn't let them get educated in public schools because of their color..so now a fund is set up to help give the black people higher education, and u wanna cry discrimination?.. get over it and stop being selfish... it's childish!

It's not racist; just discriminates. You have to understand that a lot of smart black people and other minorities come from less desirable background than Caucasians do - therefore the need to help those who need a lift. Open YOUR mind.

They have a fund because there's a NEED. I'm sure there's something for the White folks too that blacks or any other race are not privy to.

I would not say it is racist, but if there was a "white college fund" and people called it racist than those people are racist themselves
