Iran. The big painting on a tall bulding with the american flag with missiles instead of the ends of a few stripes and (I can't really tell WHAT is replacing the stars, but something is) and the big blocky black letters stating "DOWN WITH THE U.S.A." across it is a pretty big giveaway :).

However, i'm sure not every single person in the whole country hates Americans, just as not every single person in America hates a certain country.

I don't think it's right to say that you hate a general group of people. You'd have to actual know them and experience they're culture for awhile and just MAKE AN EFFORT, before you drew an opinion near "I hate Americans" or any other nationality for that matter.

Well, like I say to a lot of people who speak so broadly: you would have to know ALL the Americans to make such a statement. I'm not American by the way, but I think making such a judgement is a little unfair to say the least.

Then again, are you American? I doubt it actually. It's funny that a lot of people hate cultures that are far removed from there own. I don't like it when a person might be so quick to say they hate a person/race etc when they don't even know them! And I'm not just referring to a specific country here either; it could be anywhere in the world.

Your posting is very unclear, and to be honest - unfair. Firstly, you don't specify why you hate Americans. If you dislike America because of its president, government or anything it conveys to the world - you are overgeneralising. All Americans are different, and have differing opinions on what America does. Like every country in the world, America has its good people and bad people - thats a human thing, not an American thing.

Have you ever been to America? Do you personally know any Americans? (and I don't mean people on the telly). If you took the time to get to know some, you will like some - and dislike some.

I'm not an American myself, but I consider it unfair to label an entire population with the same brush.

'America is the most successful society in history.'
On what basis do you make that claim? Firstly, i assume you mean the US of A. Secondly, the US' greatest contribution to the world is the concept of the modern corporation and all its attendant neo-feudalism, that and the idea of the US itself as the world's rent-a-cop. Thirdly, there is the cultural imperialism inherent in the 'We're so great' mentality that saturates the world's media and eliminates alternatives to itself through a commercially backed up American cultural bias. Fourth is the fact that damn Yankees and Confederates alike come out of the woodwork to defend...themselves from criticism of their great nation. The 'all about me' bias. Individuality is a very modern conceit.

People the world over hate Americans. Honest to goodness folks from Abysinnia to Zanzibar, via Iran, Iraq, Libya, Palestine, El Salvador, Bolivia (viva la revalucion!), Columbia, North Korea, China, Holland (real party atmosphere when they first heard about 9/11), the UK, Syria, Palestine...and i reckon i could go on.
Even Americans hate Americans - vis the astronomical violent crime rate, and guys like Tim McVeigh (Gawd bless him).

i hate people who draw their identity from such a despicable concept. i hate people who feel they can be 'proud' to be American. Even my own inflammatory talk here upsets me a little. Prejudice and hate are not the answers. But the double-think inherrant in 'I'm an American, and i like to think i'm basically a good person, so by extension the 'America' with which i identify must be basically a good thing, right?' - that gets my goat. That's how really bad things happen, that is. That's how ordinary people can endorse unbelievably wicked and upsetting things like disappearences and rape-gangs and gas-chambers.
The republic to which they pledge their allegience is pretty good on paper, too. But in the real world the motto is 'Business as usual'.

If your country's that great, then maybe to do something about the 'evil regime' everyone holds accountable for anything that isn't whitewash and clapperboard.

Guess your answer is i do, Tom. And they probably hate me now.

People who do not live here and think Americans are spoiled and get everything for free. Truth is, most Americans work hard, pay too much taxes for services used by those who do not contribute to the tax base. America is the most successful society in history (yes, there is corruption). Can any American think of a country they hate for similar reasons? Hmm, wonder why...

I hate bad people. There are a lot of good Americans. So why hate them? We should live side by side. Only the American government that I don't like.

Everyone who's not one! It's a bit harsh I know and I don't for a second hate actual people 'cos they happen to be from America but as a society- crikey, laughing stock of the world and with good reason.

America really does seem to believe that it is the only free country in the world. Yes you're SO free but only if you're not left wing, then it's all "Keep your voice down lest the government finds out"

They seem to genuinely believe that the rest of us are all oppressed and dieing to be invaded by them.

A country where the ordinary culture that people are supposed to buy into is that moronic certainly shouldn't give out guns willy-nilly.

I have nothing but sympathy for descent, intelligent Americans who have to live under the rule (a former dictatorship mind you) of a cretin.

So you have met every single American in the world and have come to that conclusion or have you made an educated guess after probably meeting a few! I'm not American by the way I'm British!!

Hate is a very strong word!!! There is good & bad in all races so you cannot generalise like this. I am a Brit and Yanks are an easy target to hate due to the problems in the world.

Not me. I don't hate anyone. You're just picking a fight. And I am American, so I don't hate myself or my country.

You know what they say: I am American, and the US is my side, my team. And if you're not rooting for the team, then get the hell out of the stadium.
