A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window, stating the following: "HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer."

A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined.

Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager.

The manager said "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair.

The manager was stunned, but then told the dog "the sign says you have to be good with a computer." The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to enter and execute a perfect program, that worked flawlessly the first time.

By this time the manager was totally dumb-founded! He looked at the dog and said "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I *still* can't give you the job."

The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said "yes, but the sign *also* says that you have to be bilingual."

The dog looked at the manager calmly and said, "Meow!"

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. The horse falls into a mud hole and is sinking. He calls to the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farm but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's Mercedes back to the mud hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend, the horse, and drives the car forward saving him from sinking! A few days later, the chicken and horse were playing in the meadow again and the chicken fell into the mud hole. The chicken yelled to the horse to go and get some help from the farmer. The horse said, "I think I can stand over the hole!" So he stretched over the width of the hole and said, "Grab for my 'thingy' and pull yourself up." And the chicken did and pulled himself to safety.

The moral of the story:

If you are hung like a horse, you don't need a Mercedes to pick up chicks.

biggest drawback to using email? Don't you just hate typing a long thought and hit send to have it wiped out? Or when people misinterpret what you were saying? Perhaps the way people tend to be a bit more rude via email?
Email does lack the proper inflections at times.
What are your peeves and drawbacks about using email?

When in an uncomfortable, awkward situation for example with very shy, quiet people, those you have little in common with or those you know very little about, what are your usual conversation starters? How do you get the conversation to flow? People to relax? etc. I want to hear some unusual conversation starters not normal and boring ask them about there job? etc because this doesn't make the conversation flow.

Face to face, written( snail mail or hand delivered letters), email, text messaging via cell phone , IM ( Instant Messaging), telephone or telepathy?
I'm asking the seniors because some seniors can tend to feel vulnerable, so I am curious if that vulnerability transfers into your communication choice as well, a protective thing.

I strongly prefer email myself. I really don't like to talk on the phone much at all. Email gives me the chance to think how to respond. Thus my thoughts are more accurate.

I am a 28 year old, single, straight, successful, educated, male from NY. I have never had a girlfriend and I have only gone on a total of two dates in my entire lifetime. I have not even experienced my first kiss yet! LOL! I know that may seem a little funny! I am very involved in my career, community and in furthering my education. I am so busy on a daily basis, that on the days that I don't have work or school, I am just so tired that I sleep most of the day. I simply don't have the time to really think about girls I could ask out, much less actually go out and start a relationship. Here is the question: Why is it that when female coworkers, acquaintances, etc., find out about a guy being single they want to set him up? They ask him why he does not date and act appalled when they discover he never had a girlfriend. I'll start dating if I ever truly develop the interest. I am simply focusing on the more important aspects of my life at this time.

I have never thought of myself as a lesbian but there is a woman I work with that i find myself attracted to not so much sexually as more like a companion. I have had thoughts of hugging and kissing her but nothing more. She just always makes me happy i find myself getting giddy when i know i will see her. I know she is not gay and no one in my life would approve of these feelings at all. I have two kids and have been with the same guy for 9 years. Im just really confused and dont know what is wrong with me. I should note that she is also 14 years older than I am but we are both grown adults. Please help me.
