This year, for me it would be to go out for dinner or have a good dinner at home, (depending on what country my friend and I are in and if we are together, seems doubtful right now) going for a walk together in the snow, and exchanging a small sentimental present. Good music, some wine, something chocloate, candles, a small tree. A call to my son, and then early to bed.

Leaving a candle in the window for those who cant be with us, and to recognize the coming of the light.

I dont believe in organized religion but I walk past the church to hear the music and singing, look at the manger display. And say a quick word to God. I find it easier to communicate with Him outdoors for some reason.

Has your stance on marijuana changed at all now that your older? If your view has changed. At what age did that take place?Do you think youth are just wasting themselves away when they use it today?

I'm just curious, because I have some friends who smoke it on like a weekly or so basis( I do it about once every 2 or 3 months , but think its waste energy to use for daily recreation) and they look completely fried and idiotic. Its also depressing to seem them so non-functional.

I find it so hard to go into stores blaring xmas music, decorations everywhere you turn. I look at the little xmas dresses for tiny girls and I want to cry, pass the displays of toys and my heart aches. Every time I turn on the TV there is some fictional family decorating a tree and drinking hot chocolate and having a "family moment". All the commericals geared towards "that special someone" in your life.

My dads birthday was xmas eve.I used to have huge family dinners , the kids were still little and nice. Now there is just me and my kids left and my daughters isnt talking to me again, which is the same as every xmas for the past 5-6 yrs.

When I get put on hold on the phone now I have to listen to xmas music and everytime I turn around there is something else shooting an arrow into my heart that says "you are all alone" . Its very depressing.

I am sure I am not the only one who finds holiday seasons so very very hard to get through. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

You have to ask yourself, who will be offended? If you ask a question in jest, will somebody not see the humor in it? Will someone misunderstand the humor? How can I indicate that I have no intention of hurting anyone? Does printing with all caps indicate shouting?
I know its no big deal, but I don't want to get blocked or reported or considered some kind of poop head. (oh-oh)

I reckon I better get outta here, now. My wife says its time to go eat at some fancy eatin establishment. 'Sides, I think I been on this here comptetator too long. I gotta go find some kind o'LIFE.

Why is it an unspoken assumption that cosmopolitanism is better than insularity? I prefer the idea of a self-contained community or culture to one that is merely a part of some greater whole. I don't want to live in a global village. Isn't it nicer for your cultural referents to be closer to you, rather than far away and rather alien? Isn't it somehow more dignified? Why are people called narrow-minded for preferring the close to the far away? I wish every culture, nation and community was more insular.

If one of your nearest and dearest be eaten - whether in error (?) because the poor wee thing "wondered into your yard" - or whether she was eaten because somebodies excessive appetites go well without the bounds - even in the culinary areana.

Would you say it was fair that some sort of compensation should be forthcoming.

Let me put this plainly.

A certain party known to us - although I wonder, I really do - has EATEN Hetti. She who has survived abuse by drunken egg raiders. Rape and pillage by rampant Roosters. A failed pop career. She had come back home to enjoy the last of her laying days in peace and quiet.

But no - a motor bike riding bling-ed up Californian muscle bound CANNIBAL has eaten her.

I am distraught - as will be the Big Mac. If anyone was going to eat Hetti - I think MacTealc thought it would be him.

All that is left of our wee bitty bird is the tail feathers that the thieving article laid a false trail with.

Suggestions for punishments please.
