The Coventry Carol. Traditional song, and I love the odd harmonies that come through.
After working in retail, it's about the only Christmas song left that doesn't make me feel all stabby.

I think my favorite is "I'll be Home for Christmas" sung by
Elvis. And he also sang another I liked back then, and still
do, and that's "I'll have a Blue Christmas" or maybe it's just,
"Blue Christmas". Both take me back to when I was away
from home and missing the old traditions and being with
the family. When I hear these songs, it takes me back to
somewhat better times and the spirit of Christmas, of love,
and of sharing, were what filled my heart the entire month.
But I also remember an army base, and a barracks and 10 beds on both sides of the room. And it was bleak and cold outside. And I had a package from home for Christmas. And
it saddened me a great deal. There was so much I was
missing at HOME. And I could imagine the faces and the
food and the warmth. So now I feel for our men and women
in similar barracks, unable to not only be home, but in their
country. And I feel sorry for them, as I understand how lonely
their lives will be until they are home again. With pride in their
country, and in their outfit, and in themselves, they will stay
and fulfill their purpose. They won't like it, but they will stay
the course.

Oh Holy Night has always been my favorite traditional carol. Like Shortstuff, I absolutely love Mary Did You Know by Kenny Rogers....it's a fantastic song and I wish they'd play it more often.
For the fun and naughty but nice side of Christmas, I love Santa Baby. I've heard different people sing it, but the original version was done by Eartha Kitt.

Appropriate for Christmas or Easter is Handel's "Messiah," and it is especially stirring when sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
If you want a more conventional hymn, it would be "Joy to the World," performed by the Boston Pops under either Arthur Fiedler or Keith Lockhart.
As for the popular "holiday" tunes, it just might be "Little Drummer Boy," or it would vie with "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus."

All the classics. Right now "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" stikes my fancy. We had a white Thanksgiving, 3 inches of fresh snow the night before T-day and it was beautiful and romantic. I'd like a repeat for Christmas Eve. lol

I like Niel Diamonds Christmas Album.
Smoky Mountain Christmas is fun to listen to with my Grand kids.
Enya is soooo good too.
Mannheim Steamrollers for easy listening Christmas music.
I listen to her music and Waylon Jennings music everyday.

It is a hymn written by a calypso singer by the name of "Blind" Blake and was first performed at the Anglican Cathedral in Kingston, Jamaica. The title is: "He Come From the Glory". Here's some of the lyrics. I'm sure many of you have heard it:
"The Virgin Mary had a baby boy.
The Virgin Mary had a baby boy.
The Virgin Mary had a baby boy and she gave him the name of Jesus.
He come from the glory.
He come from the glorious kingdom.
Come down from the glory.
Come down from the glorious kingdom."
I like Harry Bellafonte's rendition of it, although I can't stand the man personally.
