Is black racism just as big of a problem in society as white racism?

If you mean blacks who discriminate against whites, orientals, hispanics etc, then that is racism. The question is though is it as big a problem in society as white racism. Never saw a black KKK group. So no, white racism was and still is a big problem in society. They might paint it differently, like we don't want illegals in this country, but it comes from racism at its roots. Whites feel threatened when they are no longer the majority. Eventually things will even out, but that might take another 100 years.

Yea black racism is only becomming a big problem to the leaders of the "black community." I feel as though they take it too far some times. White racism isnt as big.

My only advice to the black community leaders is that before you can do anything about changing racism you need to focus on your own community because there is more violent crimes in your own community than anything, so until you can change your community there isnt anything you can do to change the world and how we feel about you !!!!

I think it is but before you write this off as the completely worthless rant of a pissed off Caucasian guy...hear me out ! I have given this question a lot of thought. I think that racism when demonstrated from a minority is written off as comical or something deserved. It slips underneath the radar and isn't treated as discrimination. So it persists going unchecked. I'm not presuming that white racism isn't dangerous but it is more exposed and is more easily noticed

It is a problem, there's no doubt that ANY racism is bad.

However, a majority is more tolerant of a minority racist acts due to the history of opression and damage.

Due acts such as verbal comments and low level racist situation, lynchings would not fly, of course.

Now the issues branches out indefinitely and we can get overwhelmed with opinions from every angle and anger, so:

Let me bottom line it real quick.

Yes, it's a problem generally more tolerated because of the history behind.

Nonetheless, we as people will educate and progress ourselfves as to eventually be able to pass beyond this negative trace where racism of any kind will not be tolerated by any one group.

My humble opinion.

Black racism is far worse. When white people are racist, they just don't rent to or employ blacks. Sometimes they make off color remarks and lose their jobs (like Imus). Black racism manifests itself with acts of savage violence committed against whites by blacks. I live in Detroit. It is a daily event to watch the news and see unspeakable acts of carnage that blacks inflict on their white neighbors. In some instances, they seem to feel justified in committing these atrocities just because their victims are white and somehow "had it coming" or "owe" them. Black jurors are even stubborn to convict these monsters because they subscribe to the same hateful philosophy. It's a disgrace.

I think that people pay more attention to black racism because of the whole slave thing, and some African-Americans feel as i they are still being treated like their ancestors were. Honestly, I rarely witness ether kind of racism.

I'd say yes. I've met it first hand. I shared an apple with a black girl and some guy whispered something in her ear. Later she said he said "Never share nothing with a white man". Funny thing is, she was black but was brought up white. She didn't even know how to look after her hair until I took her to the ethnic markets.

And in schools I heard black kids calling Indians "curry face".

And even within the black community there is a pecking order, the darker you are the lower down you are. If you look at the face whitening products on sale it is really ridiculous. Even the inbred white caribbeans think they are better because of their lighter skin tones but the blacks call them "Conchy Joes", which is a race based insult.

My brother got acid thrown in his face because he was going out with a black girl.

So racism is not purely a white thing, it is just that white people are better at it than blacks.

Don't let people fool you into being in a camp. I'm in the USA. Here we have trouble with racism. Most of the people who are trying hard to convince people of Black, White, Latino or whatever racism are looking for a way to line their own pockets. Those are the ones who always seem to be in front of the camera and saying that their group is the only one who can experiance racism. They are hypocritical and dishonest. They have no plans of helping anyone get off their knees because as soon as the "people" realize they can stand up, then they know they can stand alone, and these guys are all out of work, do it's in their personal interest to keep their "group" beaten down as far as possible. These bastards know this and they get scared everytime word starts to leak out.
The fact is, you take people as they come, decide what you think of them based on what you know about the person, sure you know skin color, maybe a little about their haritage, but if you let that play a major role in how you treat people, you are screwed up. If you let it play a major role in how you treat a group of people, you're really screwed up.
I spent 10 years in the U.S. Army. I met lots of people from lots of places. Some good, some bad, all differant. I know guys who grew up in the same area I did, they are White like me and in Church every week, they are also peices of crap that aren't worth anything to anyone. I know people who are Black and grew up under horrible poverty and abuse who are great people and really good Americans. I served with a guy who built a raft out of innertubes and rowwed his wife and infant to Florida from Cuba. He joined the Army first thing, the Army taught him to speak english and Cruz was a fine solider, a good man and had a great family. He ranks high on my list of good citizens for America.
Now, to answer your question, those people who said that all racism is wrong are correct. Good luck in your search for the truth.

Both are over blown! There is a lot of money to be made, if you can keep racism in the news. Just as many people are hated for their religious beliefs, the money they have, and their political leanings, there is just no money to be made discussing these, and it would be hard to step forward as the leader of any of these groups.
