It's not like you see them on sidewalks and lawns, too. When I have shoes I want to get rid of, my first thought wouldn't be "Gee, think I'll throw them in the road" This has always puzzled me. Any thoughts, anyone?

I was just talking abou this yesterday, and I was saying, it's wierd because it's always one shoe, and if I lost my shoe while crossing the street, or something, I would want to go back and get it. I once saw a wig on the side of the road, and all sorts of scenarios went through my head, like, maybe someone was on a date, and rolled down her window and it flew off!

Great question & I have often asked myself the same question. I also have seen shirts laying in the middle of the road & wondered if the discarded shoe belonged to the person who discarded the shirt. LOL

Idk, that's a good question. I usually see sneakers thrown on top of telephone wires too.
