know how to do, but were doing it when you got caught at it?

2007-10-31 04:29:47 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous in Senior Citizens

been before, and without looking at a map or any other means driven right to the spot you were going to? (I know ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong)
I drove from Sacramento to Hollister without looking at a map or signs or anything, right to my older brothers' new house and I was followed by my nieces and nephew. I lost them somewhere and yet I drove right to his house and was sitting in the car for about a half and hour when he showed up after work. My ex-sister-in-law and my nieces and nephew got lost and they had a map. Like you had been there before, but you never were?

A neatly dressed salesman stopped a man in the street and asked -
"Sir, would you like to buy a a bottle of this mouthwash for $200.00?"

Aghast, the man said, "are you NUTS?, that's robbery!"

The salesman seemed hurt and then tries again -
"Sir, since you are a bit irate, I'll sell it to you for 1/2 price at $100.00?

Again, the man replies bluntly - "you must be crazy pal, now go away!"

The salesman then reaches into his briefcase and pulls out 2 brownies and begins munching away on one of them. He tells the irate guy -
"Sir, please share one of my brownies since I have annoyed you so much".

Unwrapping the brownie, the guy takes a bite; suddenly, the guys spits it out and says:
"HEY," he snarled, "this brownie tastes like crap!!!"

"It is," replied the salesman. "Wanna buy some mouthwash?"

A man tells his wife that he's going out to buy cigarettes. When he gets to the store he finds out it's closed. So the guy ends up going to the bar to use the vending machine. While there, he has a few beers and begins talking to this beautiful girl. He has a few more beer and the next thing he knows he's in this girl's apartment and having quite a pleasurable time. The next thing he know it was 3:00 AM.

"Oh my, god, my wife is going to kill me!" he exclaimed. "Quick give me some talcum powder!"

She gets him some and he rubs it all over his hands. When he got home his wife is up waiting for him and she's furious. "Where the hell have you been!"

He says, "Well to tell you the truth, I went into a bar, had a few drinks, went home with this blonde and I slept with her." "Let me see your hands!" she demands. He shows his wife his powdery hands.

"Damn liar, you were out bowling again!"

I am blind, but I'm a partial (meaning I have partial sight). I've been this way since birth, but only recently started using a cane. I don't need it all the time, and a lot of the time when I use it I am seeing things at cane length just fine, and therefore avoiding obsticles without the cane coming in contact with them. There are still those times when it keeps me from tumbling down steps or walking into things I don't notice as quickly.like poles or open doors or people moving too fast to see. But still my family tries to tell me I shouldn't use it because I don't need it, and that it bothers them when they're out with me and people look at me because I'm using a cane and "look blind". I really don't understand it and was wondering if anyone else does. Isn't it better to "look blind" when you ARE blind than to look sighted when you're not and end up getting injured because of it?

Telling them what hurts, then they just have to poke at it to see if it really hurts? My doctor did that to my knee yesterday. I looked at her like she'd lost her mind, and she just cracked up. If I'm at the doctor's because something hurts, and I tell them exactly where it hurts and what it feels like, how does it help them to make it hurt more? Good thing I have a sense or humor.

Do you think that the majority of White Americans are racist? There was a question posted yesterday, and unfortunately deleted, where someone made the statement, "Blacks know that the MAJORITY of whites are racist." Does racism really exist to this extent? Are White Americans failing to see the racism right under their nose?

I know a fair amount about alzheimers and dementia but always find out it is harder to apply what I know to people I am invovled with.
I have been wondering if my friend may have blocked her husbands death and not grieved sufficiently. Then again I've had family who divorced and six months later it was as if they had never known their spouse.

My three grandsons are a handful to get out of the house on most mornings. Let us just say that they are of an age when arguing about everything is a "fun" pastime!

Today, I have to get all three of them fed their lunches and then dressed in their costumes, all within a half an hour. And TWO of them require some involved makeup, which I think I am going to tone down for their afternoon at school, and only do "for good" for their trick-or-treating after supper.

So who are YOU dressing today?

My oldest will be Hitsugia from an anime program called Bleach.

The middle one of going to be Jack Sparrow.

And the youngest is going to be Jack Skelington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

We all have days where we feel less than 100%, for one reason or another. Rather than stick your head in the sand...what's the most effective pick-me-up for you?

eg: a book, texting a friend, a cuppa, a fave film, walking the dog, cuddling the cat, going for a walk etc, etc.
