been before, and without looking at a map or any other means driven right to the spot you were going to? (I know ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong)
I drove from Sacramento to Hollister without looking at a map or signs or anything, right to my older brothers' new house and I was followed by my nieces and nephew. I lost them somewhere and yet I drove right to his house and was sitting in the car for about a half and hour when he showed up after work. My ex-sister-in-law and my nieces and nephew got lost and they had a map. Like you had been there before, but you never were?

I tell people I could get lost in my kitchen. lol I get lost a lot because I never pay enough attention and I will not turn around. I know what you are saying though. I actually do better if I use my 'instincts' and don't think about which way to go. I was visiting my daughter and had to get off an exit to pick up a book for her. I took turns and ended up right in the store's parking lot. I've often felt as if I'm been places or in situations before and knew the outcome would be ok. That happens less now, as I get older I can't tell if things will be ok or not.

Wally, I wish just once in my life I could do it. I am constantly lost trying to find addresses here, even with map quest. My older sister told me to "get lost" and I guess I took her word, because I always do

I went back to FL after hurricane Wilma, I was doing the driving since I was a team leader. Since we were making house calls to give assistance to people who were affected by Wilma. ARC gave us addresses to go to. We had to purchase our own maps. One of the people in the car was supposed to be the navigator. Might have worked better if there were street signs so you knew where you were. I drove 1800 miles in about 3 1/2 weeks, I think 600 might be in the right direction the balance was going in the wrong direction making a U turn and heading all the way back and in the right direction. HUH I have driving!

Yes, all the time. Somehow, I know where someplace is without every having been there (that I know of)..I often know what is around the corner in places I have never been. I also, on occasion, "Know" someone I have just met for the first time. I chalk this up to past life experience, no more, no less. I am not a big believer in deja vu. But my life's experiences tell me that I have lived many, many times before. Nuts? Perhaps...but I don't think so. Phil

I had to go and repo some horses once in a city I had never been to and all I had for an address was a rural route--directed my hub right to the house. Did it another time when he wanted to find his uncles house and I had never been there and he had. I told him exactly how to get there. I have this uncanny built in thing that's tells me where to go to find the place. I used to find my hub when he was out of town working in cities that I had zero knowledge of. I drove right to the place without one wrong turn.
Weird eh??

No, I'm directionally challenged, and by the time I read a map for someone else who is driving, he's gotten where we're supposed to be already. Hey, when I grew up, I always thought North was directly in front of me!

That is a great ability you have. I can go out in the country and take a couple of lefts and a right and not be able to find my way home. I am serious. Guess I should try breadcrumbs or something. Ha?

When I go into a shop inside a mall, coming out of the shop is always a problem for me. I usually head the wrong way. My husband has just watched me, smiling, at times, to see what I would do. I am SO directionally challenged.

Such a dare devil.

I always do MapQuest and still I get lost. Never fails. I seem to take wrong turns because the signs come up too fast before I can read them. Don't think I could ever just do what you did!!!

I've been thousands of miles in the wrong direction. hahaha I get the jest of your question though.
Once I started a new high school, OKOK, it was like 30
some odd years ago.
The weird part was, I knew people, it was like I had been there before. I knew them by first and last names and I knew their personality's to. It was wild:~)

I wonder if it is "man thing" Wally. Or you are just blessed with that inner sense of direction. I can go from A to B but when it comes time to travel the reverse back I keep circling B.
