Yes, you may need medical intervention to help relieve the depression. Anti Depressants work, but it also takes lots of support from friends and family, and sometimes climbing out of a hole can be tough depending on how deep you have feel.
Good Luck and if you don't start seeing things looking up please see a doctor, there is help out there.

Yes, I used to drive around fast and imagine what it would be like to drive into a bridge abutment. But, LOL, I was afraid I would just wake up in a hospital with lots of pain!!!!
Time does heal things. I am fine now. When you are low, just think of the ppl in places like Africa who would give ANYTHING to be you. They are AIDS orphans dying of hunger and all alone. Or the cancer patient who is dying who would give ANYTHING to have a chance at living, like you have life.
Here is a good help: write out a list of everything you have to be thankful for. There is actually a lot...I mean, you have internet access, so you are better off right there than about 4 billion other ppl on this planet....and then thank God for these things. If you don't pray, maybe tie them on balloons and let them go to show how thankful you are.
Also, don't forget talking to a trusted friend or a counselor.

Worked to get out of it. I had left my boyfriend, had nothing but mass debt and a job that didn't pay on time.

I busted butt to get out of that debt, bought a car - still stayed at the job for a couple more years though - and, by working so much, I kept myself busy enough to not think of the boyfriend and do stupid things like call him.

The whole thing brought up my self esteem, bettered my credit score and lead me to a better job.

I think getting over something depends on what that something is. Regardless of the situation, it is always difficult and can be very discouraging, but you are strong - you can do it! If you are at the lowest, then the only way to go is up!!!

Yes, I have. I believe many people go through this at some point in their lives. And some people go through it more than once. But, like the others above mention, it will get better. It always does! So, take heart, and be patient.

If you feel that you are at the lowest point in your life, then just keep in mind that it can only get better!

(I know it sounds cheesy, because it is, but it's also true.)

Unfortunately when I hit that point I tried suicide. Luckily I had family and friends that loved me and still do and help me through the tough times. However my biggest help was a psychiatrist and medication.
