I do so appreciate you, Jilly and so many others. This site has been my 'friend' for some time now and really helped me out in the past two months when I was ill, scared and depressed. I could log on, laugh, commiserate, learn and just treat it like my personal "Calgon"...the members here for the most part are wonderful people and so special and unique and caring!

One of the saddest things I ever saw was years ago driving a charter bus. I picked up at a home for the elderly. This lovely older woman got on and sat directly across from me. She was alert but talked to no one and no one talked to her. Seems her family dropped her off and never visited. She only spoke Italian and no one else did. She must have been tremendously lonely. I suggest you find a home where you can volunteer. You should be able to meet a lot of older people that would be glad to have you for a friend. Look around in your neighborhood and see if there is an older person that lives alone. Drop by with a plate of cookies and say hello. There are tons of lonely people of all ages. I'm older now but when I was younger I always had older folks around me. There were always great stories and lots of laughs. I have an older friend now and we get together for a meal and a movie once a week or so. She's traveled all over the world and is just so interesting.

I have reaffirmed in my own mind, that I am not as alone as I thought I was, if ever. The Seniors section is made up of people I would want at my bedside when I leave this coil. Of course I would have to have the bed sitting in the middle of a large stadium for all of my friends to fit. Then I would need a loudspeaker so everyone could hear me breathe my last. Of course, if it were like John Wayne's movie the Quiet Man, I may be like the old guy in the bed during the fight scene who gets up and goes to see what the commotion was, never know?

So far, this is the best category for me. I like to visit here several times a day and I appreciate your participation as well as the many others who contribute. It is best when mature people can give some thought to their questions and answers. I have learned quickly to stay away from some of the other places.

Count me in! When I was MIA because of my trip and then the surgery, I missed you all like mad! This computer used to sit here unused for days, and then I ventured in Yahoo Answers one night. Shortly after I found the seniors site, and life around here hasn't been the same since. The house is dusty, ironing needs to be done....but I'd rather sit and chat with or just read about what's going on with my new-found friends. Glad I found you all!

I appreciate them all so much, including you. As it got harder for me to be in the 'real world' because of my allergies, I found you all. I can sit here in my living room and travel, learn, share, and care. I don't have to worry about how I look or even if I don't feel well, I can jump in whenever I want. I thank each of you from the bottom of this country girl's heart for sharing your lives and time with me. You are each dear to me, my Y/A friends.

Seniors is a comfortable hangout on YA. It amazes me that so many of us are sitting in front of a computer instead of sharing all this humor, wisdom and kindness in person. It's my only chance to "talk" with mature adults so others must be in that same boat.
Seniors are a thoughtful bunch. Even when they disagree with you they are polite. Can't say the same about other groups on YA. (Religion and Spirituality is a very scary place.)

I appreciate all my friends on here and at our new location. I actually had a blue morning yesterday and started crying when aanswering a question. Well, I ended up receiving several hugs, and it made my day a whole lot better. Thanks to all of you!

Some of those on this site have become friends I may never meet, but I appreciate their diversity and love that they care enough about each other to keep coming back to check on one another. There is a core group here that welcomes those who want to experience what we have to offer, and learn from those who have much to teach. I just love this core group to pieces!

I truly enjoy the fine company of all of you witty and charming people. I am only saddened that we have lost many over a quarrel. Don't give up the ship folks. I'm here for the duration.
