Wouldn't it be nice if Yahoo Answers, and the LGBT section in particular, was rather like the theme song to Cheers? Here are the lyrics incase anyone can't remember (or was too young to watch it!)

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

I just came out and now have this really cute boyfriend - but have this problem. Do you think he will be insulted if I suggest a natural male enhancement product?

They always ask at the doctor's office why you are there, and you
have to answer in front of others what's wrong and sometimes it is
embarrassing.
There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you
tell her what is wrong with you in a Room of other patients. I know
most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it:
An 86 year old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached
the desk....
The Receptionist said, "Yes sir, what are you Seeing the Doctor for today?"
"There's something wrong with my dick", he replied.
The receptionist became irritated and said, "You shouldn't come Into
a crowded waiting room and say things like that."
"Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you," he said.
The Receptionist replied; "Now you've caused some embarrassment in
this room full of people. You should have said there is something
wrong with your ear or something, and discussed the problem further
with the Doctor in private."
The man replied, "You shouldn't ask people questions in a room full
of strangers, if the answer could embarrass anyone.."
The man walked out, waited several minutes and then re-entered.
The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, "Yes ?"
"There's something wrong with my ear", he stated.
The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken
her advice.
"And what is wrong with your ear, Sir ?"
"I can't piss out of it," he replied.
The waiting room erupted in laughter.

I always thought she looked stunning and carried herself so well. From Here To Eternity has that incredible kissing scene and I like The King and I but I have to say An Affair To Remember is my favorite. First off because Cary Grant was such a freaking hunk and the ending is worth three tissues.

It seems like whenever someone says something against homosexuality, they are deemed homophobic, which basically is explained as : if you don't like homosexual activity then you are homophobic, and you are homophobic because you don't like homosexual activity, and because of your bias against homosexual activity, all your opinions concerning homosexuality have no merit because they are based on a fear.

My question is: if that is true, then is the converse true as well? meaning that if I grant card blanche to homosexual activity just on the basis alone that it is homosexual activity, and don't criticize any aspect of it, am I also practicing a homophobia?

I ask this because I see two ends of a spectrum here, one that opposes the behavior of these people in all respects and thereby voices opposition to it, versus the other end of the spectrum that grants a pass to all activities engaged in by these people by never opposing the behavior of said group.

What's your opinion?

An insurance agent explained the high cost of health care by saying (more or less) ...
" As medicine has advanced, we're spending more - lots more. Most of it is on babies born seriously premature, and people in the last five years of their life. People that would have died within months, are now living for five, ten, fifteen years - with massive medical interventions, at massive costs. Health costs in the US last year, according to Consumer Reports, were $7,000 per capita."

I don't feel sorry for the insurance companies. They are making tidy profits. As a pre-Medicare retiree, I pay $5,000 per year in health insurance premiums plus co-pays on everything from lab work to doctor's office visits. I'm spending about $7,000 a year out of my own pocket. I guess I could save the insurance company lots of money if I die before they have to fork out payments for cancer treatment or a heart surgery. Grrrrrrrr!

What is your opinion of health insurance in the USA?

My middle school son refers to kids cutting themselves, or as a minimum scraping their wrists until red (simulating cuts) as "emo." Trendy is one thing; dangerous is entirely another. Is my son hanging out with this type of child, or ones who are "goth" something I should be extra concerned about?
