The most I ever found was walking down the street in Los Angeles with my Dad when I was 5 years old. I saw something green in between the sidewalk squares and pried it up. My Dad said let me look at that. It was a Lucky Strike pack in Green and inside was a $100 bill. I only got a dime out of it. But it brings back memories. That was in 1953.

No, my Dad didn't rip me off. About 15 years later, he sold the Lucky Strike Green package for a lot of money and gave me 3/4 of what he got. I used the money to buy the first 10 books in Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan series in First Edition, First Printing and all of the books were in excellent condition.

my five minute break for today...
At 27, my wife and I were hard pressed for money, one child, both working. Working out at the Y, in the locker room, a brief case was left by someone sometime...It was there when I came in to change, and still there when I was changing to leave....I took the case, opened it, and found all kinds of paperwork and a wad of money...I am talking a wad! This was before drug money, etc. I took the case with me, opened it at home, found 3, 564.00 in it! ( I will never forget that amount of money as long as I live...that was easily one months of income to us then) Now I am not going to deny that I was not sorely tempted due to our circumstances, but that same night, I went through the paper work, found several names, but only one was reoccurring... no listing in the metropolitan version of white pages. IT took me 3 days of searching for this character, but I found him alive and well in NYC! Turns out he was a route salesman, would have had to replace the money from his pocket...I have never regretted finding the owner, for it could have been me who lost that money! He offered me a reward, but I declined. He was no more than a working stiff like me, and he thought the case had been stolen from his car. That honesty has come back to me in so many ways in life. Funny, what goes around comes around, in one way or another. Love and peace in life, Goldwing

We lived across from a convenience store when I was little. On the weekends I would find paper money everywhere. I think it was the drunks going for more beer. I also used to check the pay phone every morning before school and used to get a lot of change from it.
The most I found at one time was a wallet with a few thousand in it. I did the right thing and returned it. Got a reward but don't remember how much, too long ago. I do know I probably blew it on candy.

I found $100 dollar bill once , but I've got a better one for ya.
While standing in a long line at the bank I noticed something peculiar on the 'checking counter' . I looked and it was a cashier's check for $17,000 . Quickly I scanned the bank and the exit to see if I might recognize whoever it was who had just left the counter . I found him too . It was an old man that barely seemed cognizant when I handed it to him . . . .. .. .Situation resolved , right ? - Not exactly . I got back in line and finally when it was my turn I got called to one the the banker's desks to conduct my transactions . As I sat down , what do you think I saw ? -- Yep , another lost check lying on the floor . This one was $600+ for some poor guys rent . . . . . . . .End of story , right ? -- Not exactly . Later that same week while at a client's business , I found an envelope that contained over $800 in cash , and a check stub from the employee who had just cashed his payroll . I gave it to my client and his employee barely uttered 'Thank you' . All in one week .
That's ok , maybe I'll get lucky and find $17,000 , $600 , and $800 in cash WITH NO NAMES ON ANYTHING !!

Walking through the streets of Oklahoma City I found $34 total in small bills and change in a space of about 4 hours back in the summer of 1982.

The most I ever found was just a few years ago. It was a twenty-five dollar chip on the bathroom floor in a casino. Now and then I find change or a bill. I pick them up. Even pennies add up.

The most expensive thing I ever found was a diamond and pearl necklace which was lying in a field. I went to the police station with it but they were closed, the next morning when I walked in the same field there was a notice asking if anyone had found a necklace, It turned out to belong to my neighbour over the road, and her husband had given it to her for their 25th wedding anniversary. They knew where they had lost it but in spite of searching all afternoon they didn't find it.They gave me a bottle of Whisky as a reward.I am known in the family for finding things and have many finds I could tell you about.

i have found all denominations, up to $20 bills [ donate to church if no owner, buy i don't needthe money.
I have also found dogs, kittens, and several children, including three who weren't old enough to talk English [ they used toddler language - were between 12 and 24 months ]
All three parents were eventually located. All three groups had more adults than kids.
I could easily have taken any one of those kids home. Parents, keep an eye on your kids, and make sure they know what to do if they get lost!

I haven't found a large amount but Id like to share with you how my husband found money. He was snorkeling in a local river one summer and said he saw something sort of waving in the current and stuck on a branch so he went down for a closer look .It was a $20 bill. He went down a few more times and came up with several more. In all he found $120.00 and he came home and shared it with us. He thinks maybe teenagers went in to cool off and their money dislodged from their pockets.

I found about $15 in the parking lot one time and it couldn't have come at a better time. My Mom found a $100.00 bill under her back tire----thought she had won the lottery!! I have found different things over the years, checks, business papers, income tax return etc. Always went out of my way to find the owner--and I did---it felt good!!

I've found several purses and I returned them. The most I've ever found on the ground, was $10 in a parking lot. I find dimes all the time though, it's like they follow me around. It sometimes amazes my family, the way dimes find their way to me.
