Especially since the religious conservatives claim that the bible condemns gays to hell.

Also, do gay priests adhere to the concept of celibacy?

And how do they cope facing a congregation that may be anti-gay?

Would love to hear from priests / ex-priests / public at large

Please note the spin on this age old question.

I have my own answer to this, but that's not what this question is for.

This should settle the debate. If there are no gay people who say they chose to be gay, then the argument that gay is a choice, is false.

If your not gay, how could you know. If you are gay, you should be able to answer the question correctly I would imagine.

Thanks for the help, and lets see if we can lay this one to rest.

My essay is supposed to be based loosely off of a newspaper article, and I'm also supposed to state my opinion and my reasons for holding that opinion. Well, I obviously support same-sex marriage but I need some legal examples of a few things stated in the article:

the first being this quote "We just want to protect our relationship and our children like any other couple would."

An example of how would an official marriage be "protecting" a relationship, please?

and the second being this one: "If two people are married, they wouldn't have to pay for a lot of things others take for granted."

Could you give me an example of what those things might be?

Thank you very much! I'm trying to make my essay as professional and clear as possible because there's a lot of homophobia at my school and I'd like to take a small stab at discouraging it. :-)

Could they be just curious, insecure about their own sexuality or just homophobics...which has to do a great deal with their own sexual insecurities. I have to admit some are gay friendly though...those have no sexual insecurities.

I am very isolated in my home since I am disabled and unable to drive. My doctor told me to find people online to talk to and email, but I keep finding mostly people a lot younger than I am (48) and I don't want to talk in the shorthand people use these days. The penpals sites usually give me people from far away who don't speak English very well, and the chat sites are meaningless to me. I am an educated woman who just needs some social time without the kids and perverts. Can anyone give me some leads?

There is a huge difference between God himself and all of the crazy people who are doing things supposedly in God's name. The people who get up there and say that God hates homosexuals haven't read their Bible close enough - He loves everyone, and if Jesus Christ were on the earth today - he'd eat and drink with you just the same. Many people have used religion to persecute so many groups of people over the centuries. Like the Jews in World War Two, etc. but that doesn't mean God Himself hates Gays - he doesn't. He hates Sin - but he hates ALL SIN. I don't think he goes and says this is a worse sin than that one. God Himself - loves Gay people very much - and anyone who says differently is misguided. But I want to caution you against hating all Christians just because of what people have done to you. In high school people accused me of being gay and did hate against me too - so I understand to a small degree that you have suffered by the hands of these people.(continued)

my wife is bi and has a gf on the net that she chats with. This woman is planning to move near us. We have two girls and we are both living with disabilities. We live with my wife's disabled dad who controls everything.. He disapproves of her behavior and has threatened to cut the cable for the net....(my wife and i pay for it) He has turned her family against her.. her sister who is holy roller has condemned us to hell for this. This sister own the house we live in, and told us today that we can't us the computer for this sinful thing. What is your reaction?
