I never thought of it like that before.

I'd also like to know how people can think it's learned behavior when a lot of gay people grow up in very VERY conservative families and are taught from an early age that it's a sin, and then they try to fight the feelings because they truly believe they're wrong to have them, and some of them even end up committing or trying to commit suicide because they can't stop the "sin" from growing inside them.

Also, the vast majority of us gays come from straight parents, so if sexuality is learned behavior, you'd think we'd have learned to be straight from being exposed to our parents relationship all our lives. Even if they're divorced, they'd still likely be having other heterosexual relationships which we would be exposed to as we grew. Hence, there's no reason we wouldn't have "learned" to be straight if that were the case.

This is a good question because from 15 until I got married at 21 I was with alot of men, trying to find the right one, I was always shy and intimidated by men for some reason. I had a couple crush's on girls in high school (nothing ever happened) but I thought that was normal. I got married at 21 and was married for 17 years. I met my soul mate (a woman) who moved next door to me and I left my marriage within 3 months, I have never felt what I felt until I met her, it was as if we'd been together forever in past lifes, we've been together 14 years. Well I thought am I bi? How could I be bi if sexually men don't do anything for me (I never experienced an orgasm with a man, it didn't seem right) yet if I was gay why wasn't I ever with a woman? So for me to say I was born gay,bi or straight was confusing. A man answered a question of mine this morning and this is what he said: I think the default is bisexual and some just are more homosexual than others. And this made sense to me....we are all born bisexual...yet some are just more homosexual than others.. I also like halo2xbox...answer because I love sylvia brown and that makes sense to me also...

The article explains that he, in fact, wasn't born blind. Nor does he claim he was born gay. You weren't born stupid, so i think you're smart enough to figure it out. When people call homosexuality a learned behavior; they mean to say it's a fetish. A fetish born out of emo feelings of fear & lonliness.
Often, dissolution with the opposite sex; whether that be a potential partner, or an authority figure i.e. parent, can coax a fragile mind astray.

Now THAT'S one I'd never thought of! How would someone "teach" a blind, deaf or dumb person (or someone who's all three) that they're gay? How would they "learn" it? And who would they learn it from? Oh, yeah, I'm SURE their parents would teach it to them, right?

But it makes no difference whether or not you can prove this point effectively. People who have made THEIR choice to hate gays, women and/or minorities can't usually be convinced once they've made up their minds.

Being blind wouldnt affect you learning to be gay. Just because they can't see those guys doesn't mean they couldn't learn from other senses that they could be gay.

I'm not saying being gay is a learned behavior, I don't think it is, I'm just saying that's not a good argument. Blind people can learn too.

Being a homosexual isn't anymore of a learned behavior then being a heterosexual. People that say otherwise, know not of what they speak. Although, that doesn't seem to stop the self-righteous from trying to pass off their ignorant opinions as fact. It is so ridiculous to me when heterosexuals pseudo-scientifically "explain" my sexuality with their clueless assumptions. They might as well be telling me that the earth is flat, that is how stupid they sound.

More interesting is the people who say being gay is learned and thus should not be protected by law, when these same people claim religious grounds for the denial but their religious beliefs are protected from discrimination and we know that it is learned behavior because people go out to change other people's religion.

I'm not saying being gay is a learned behavior, but can't blind people learn behaviors too???

Stupidity and ignorance and homophobia probably

People who claim this will never listen to gays or reason and admit that bieng into the same-sex isn't learned

Well people can say that because right now there is not a lot of hard scientific evidence that would say homosexuality is a definite DNA traight in Humans.
