Could they be just curious, insecure about their own sexuality or just homophobics...which has to do a great deal with their own sexual insecurities. I have to admit some are gay friendly though...those have no sexual insecurities.

Most have "issues", whether it is being insecure, closeted, or maintain their self worth by putting others down.

None of those three things for me. I've been supportive of the gay community ever since I was a young teenager. I'm 38 now. I used to enjoy coming into this category and answering legitimate questions but became disgruntled because of all the trolls. It's actually tiring weeding through all that crap. I think some straight people have questions they would like to ask gay people and this is a good, anonymous place to do it. Even though they may not often word things perfectly PC and some of the questions may seem very naive but I think they should get some credit for really wanting to learn something about the gay community. The best way to learn about things that you don't really understand is to ask questions.

I'm sorry to say this, but there is no scientific evidence or factual document that states that the majority of homophobics are actually homosexual themselves. Just because a person is racist against African Americans doesn't secretetly mean they are black. Stuipid and ignorant? Probably.

But in all reality, most of the people who bash homosexuals are just seeking attention and recognition, and what better way to totally bash an already sensative issue? Are they insecure about theyre own sexuality? I doubt it. Are they very childish and seek attenion as a 3 year old would? Definetely.

I think because many many of them are curious. I think WAY MORE people have gay tendencies then they'd like to admit. Go to any bar, at 1 a.m., on a Saturday night, in the suburbs, and you'll see "straight" girls making out with each other, giggling like idiots. It is impossible to get an accurate percentage of gay adults in this country because people will constantly lie to themselves and everyone else about who they are and what orientation they are.

And I agree - it's only the most sexually secure straights that can truly be gay friendly.

I'll be in another section, answering a question, and when I'm done a box will come up with additional questions, in a variety of categories. Some are LGBT. If I see one that looks interesting I'll answer it. No big mystery.
Besides, I've read some comments from LGB and T people criticizing (what I'll call) outsiders for not attempting to understand them. Isn't that what YA is supposed to be about, to improve understanding? If we all stay in our little niche categories of YA and don't communicate with people with different views and experiences then the whole thing would be kind of boring.

I AGREE!
I think that those who come here just to bash me for being who I am, often feel threatened and are insecure in their own sexuality!
And to those of you who are "gay friendly", more power to you. No minority group ever overcame opression without the aid of those who were not in the group!

sure, I do ask your self which human beings from my college became out to be gay. when I graduated a year and a nil.5 in the past there have been in basic terms like 4 overtly gay adult males, all of whom have been very camp, 3 lesbians, and a bisexual female in a school of 2200. i could like to ascertain which human beings have because of the fact pop out. there have been rather some human beings i become suspicious of. MP: speed Stick 24/7, because of the fact I sweat badly, regrettably.

Honestly, I'm kind of curious. I come from a strict family of heterosexuals and I just learned last year that my friend is bi and now I know alot of my friend are bi. So honestly, I'm looking what to do so I can't offend them. It sounds weird but when you've been sheltered for so long, you don't know what the heck to do.

The problem is people have to hard time accepting people that are different from them, People think people should think like them, LGBT people have to understand that most of the world is Heterosexual.

I think maybe just to bash people. Looks like that is what happens. I am straight but I do look at some of the questions. People will say on here what they would never say in person. Not brave enough about it.
