Please don't hate me for asking this and I mean no offense to anyone. I am just a straight guy trying to understand. I do not see what Larry Craig is accused of as a crime. I hear no voices from the gay community commenting on this nationally exposed event. My question is what is wrong in "hitting on" a guy for sex? I can see that having sex in a public restroom is not approprate, but there is no evidence to support that this was his intent. To me it seems as if he was trying to pick up a guy for sex. I can "hit on" someone at the grocery store, the local park, even at church and it is not a crime, so my question is why is it against the law to approach someone in the restroom? I personally would not like to be "hit on" in the restroom but I think it would not be a crime. I would not like to be hit on in the grocery store, park, or church either, but it seems it should not be a crime just to hit someone up for sex in this context. Please share your thoughts or ideas on this.

She's 81, and although sound would be nice, it isn't required.

Sure is here for us in this part of coastal GA. Finally got some much needed rain and what a treat it was to wake up to the sound of it! Plus I've had a humming bird entertaining me all morning at the flowers right outside the kitchen window. Hope that you're having a great day too, and that you're finding pleasure in the simple things around us. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend everyone.

Will you please share your thoughts? Thank You!

Think About This One!!! It is short, but very interesting...

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.

A toy company can out source to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.

A shoe company can produce its shoes in Southeast Asia and claim it's a free market

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico . We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh . We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different countries.

BUT, heaven help the senior citizens who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian or Mexican pharmacy.

That's called un-American and illegal and our politicians want to stop it!

And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!

If you've ever wandered through a medieval castle, you know that people were shorter in "the olden days." The beds were tiny and the clothing was petite. Few kids over twelve today could fit into a suit of armor.
And we haven't stopped evolving. Each generation seems to grow taller. Children are often taller than their parents. Part of that growth is genetic and part is due to increased nutrition and other health factors that we enjoy today.

Still - most modern products are manufactured for people of average height and that leaves people at either end of the height spectrum - with fewer choices.

Why is that ? if you want anything adapted to a tall person you need to shop in specialty stores. But almost everyone is taller now. Average height for a man is now 6 feet, average for woman is 5'9. Why aren't the manufacturers adapting to this. Dont they realise their sales are dropping?

The other morning I took a pair of underwear out of the drawer. "What the hell?" I said to myself as a little "dust" cloud appeared when I shook them out. "Buddy," I hollered into the bathroom, "why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?" He shot back: "It's not talcum powder. It's 'Miracle Grow'."

Should I be insulted?

Today someone brightened my day by e-mailing me a bunch of Maxine cartoons and quips. The one that got me guffawing was this:

"Do you realize that in 40 years we'll have millions of old women running around with tattoos and navel piercings? That's Scary."

Hmm. Crepe paper roses, anyone?

Hi, I am a student learning English from South Korea.
I have got a one question that I am really curious about.

I did take a English course in Australia last year. We all
candidates were trying to mimic native spreakers's accent,
gesture, and even expression. One day, during the calss
one of my male class mates did say some of words.

"Oh! so fabulous!!!"

and then suddenly my teacher laughed at him so noisily.
She said it bit sounded like a gay.

So Is there something else we should not use to avoid being
thought as a gay?

Recently in the news I discovered a US Senator was arrested for "soliciting sex in an airport bathroom".

Let me say now, I am straight, married, and morally traditional in general.

I have issue with the fact that he 1) Attempted to hire a prostitute, and 2) Is a married man making that adultery.

What I want to know is. Is the Senator being treated unfairly? Meaning..is being treated more harshly than a straight man would, if he attempted to hire a female prostitute?

This chaps my @ss a bit on account that historically many US Politicians have had affairs, and used prostitutes and have kept they're jobs in office. ( Take Bill Clinton for example )

Why is he being forced to "step down"?

Is it just me or is this guy getting extra crap, because the person he intended to solicit was male.

Is this gay prejudice more than "reprimand for Un-ethical behavior"?
