I have always dreamed of joining the peace corps, but I'm married now and 2 years is too long to commit and still have a stable marriage. I'm looking for something a few weeks or maybe a couple of months now in another country, and I'd like to find something that cost around $2500 or less. Thanks!

it is an organisation reaching out to the AIDS orphaned girls in the rural area at a place called Kombewa.we want to provide sanitary towels as well as direct sponsorship for their education in primary and secondary education.if you have clothes that you longer wear we would really appreciate if you could send them because it will help towards giving decent clothing to these children.

Is there a way to fundraise and at the same time inform people of child mortality?

If so, how?

What I mean is: Can one do things that really benefit others, as opposed to just yourself.

Most charity that I am aware of doesn't really help other people. Either it makes people dependent on cheap handouts, or it destroys the local economy (that can't compete with free) or it contributes to overpopulation, all the while making the "charitable" feel better about themselves.

My own sister and brother-in-law adopted a Rumanian child. It took me months to get info. on fostering a U.S. child. The Child & Family service I went through kept sending me information only on other countries. I refused the info. and they finally sent me what I wanted. after numerous tries.

I have a room full of old clothes, blankets, and tons of other stuff. Most aren't clothes you would see somthing where these days. There some what old fashion and some are stained. I tried having a yard sell but no one wants this kind of stuff. I was just wondering if theres anything to do with them like donating to homeless shelters or thrift stores, and how do you donate exactly, do you just drop off the clothes ordo you call and have some one pick them up?

Does anyone here live in or near Evansville? Or does anyone know about Evansville? I am thinking of moving there and I was wondering what is the good part and the bad part of town was. I am a middle aged man. I am not a partier or drug head and I do not want to be looking for a place in the wrong part of town. I currently live in the Denver area, so it's not like I can go check it out. Is the east side better/worse than the west? How about the north side or the south side? Is there small towns close to evansville that are decent and not overrun with drugs and gangs?

We have people making millions of dollars per year and yet we have starving children, women and men!!! Can anyone please explain that to me? Why don't we have more people, who make that amount of money, help the poor? What does a person do with all that money, buy cars, big houses? Sharing.... we all need to learn how to do that!!!

There is a volunteer who has brain damage because of her parents stomping on her head when she was a toddler. As a result, she has memory problems, difficulty getting along with others, and temper outbursts that are not fault of her own.

Now the question is do volunteer organizations have a right to discriminate against her? What rights does she have? She didn't ask for the brain damage or the consequences of it. Nor did she asked to be punished for being disabled. To what extent are volunteer organizations allowed to discriminate against handicapped and disabled persons? Can you ban someone from volunteering simply because "they make us look bad?" What recourse does the above woman have if she is banned from volunteering or is told, "One more outburst and you are out of here?" Does the Citizens with Disabilities Act apply here? Would she have any grounds for a lawsuit?
