I'm just asking the question to those who do. Who said I don't give to my community now?

As in those commercials that you see on tv? No, if you want to donate money to a good cause, that involves children, look at your local community YMCA, or Boys and Girls Club. Start with home first, please.

I sponsor a child in Kenya. The group is World Vision, they spend more of the donation on the child and her community than most "charities" do. The one I go through is World Vision. I have been sponsoring a girl for about 9 months now and it is well worth it. I get letters and pictures from her every couple months. I know the money is helping her family of 5 get proper nutrition and she is able to go to school.

Not ones from TV. However I do help a girl that lives in my neighborhood that has brain cancer. Also donate, attend benefits to help but not from TV.
